但在回家的途中住宿時，我們打開口袋，發現我們帶來買糧的錢分毫不少地放在那裡。我們把這些錢帶回來了，又另外帶了一些錢來買糧。我們不知道誰把買糧的錢放進了我們的口袋。」

因為「不可通姦、不可殺人、不可偷竊、不可貪婪」以及其他誡命，都可以總結成一句話——「愛鄰如己」。

後來他們倒口袋時，發現每個人買糧的錢袋都在自己的口袋裡，他們和父親見此情形，都害怕起來。

「『不可偷盜。

人只要觸犯律法中的一條，就等於違犯了全部，因為那位說「不可通姦」的，也說過「不可殺人」。如果你沒有犯通姦罪，卻殺了人，你仍違犯了律法。

你們還要帶雙倍的錢，好歸還上次留在你們口袋中的錢，那可能是弄錯了。

那人問：「什麼誡命呢？」耶穌答道：「不可殺人，不可通姦，不可偷盜，不可作偽證，

「不可偷盜。

他們回答說：「我主為什麼這樣說？我們絕不會做這種事。

他們來到一處住宿的地方，其中一人打開口袋拿飼料餵驢，卻發現裡面有錢，

彼此議論說：「我們一定是在遭報應。從前我們的弟弟苦苦地哀求我們，我們卻不理會，現在這場痛苦臨到我們了。」
