基甸又對他們說：『我可有一個要求要求你們；你們各人請將所掠得的金環給我；（原來仇敵都帶金環，因為他們是以實瑪利人）。他們說：『我們情願給你；就鋪開一件外衣，各人將所掠得的金環丟在裏面。基甸所要求的金環、重一千七百舍客勒金子；此外還有米甸王身上的月牙圈、耳墜、和紫紅色衣服；另外又有駱駝脖子上的鍊子。基甸將這些金子造了一個神諭像，安置在他本城俄弗拉；以色列眾人都變了節在那裏去服事那神諭像；這就害了基甸和他全家入於網羅。

我必察罰她拜巴力的節日向巴力燻祭的罪；那時她用她的耳環和珠寶裝飾自己，跟着她的愛人走，我呢、她卻忘了；永恆主發神諭說。

又拿他們所造的牛犢，用火去燒，磨得很細，撒在水面上，叫以色列人喝。

當那日子、人必將他們為自己所造去敬拜的銀偶相金偶相拋給挖窩的田鼠和蝙蝠，

但是你們卻要這樣待他們：他們的祭壇你們要拆毁，他們崇拜的柱子你們要打碎，他們的亞舍拉神木、你們要砍下，他們的雕像你們要用火去燒。

他們的神的雕像、你們要用火去燒；那上頭的金銀、你不可貪愛，也不可取為己有，免得你因此而陷入網羅；這原是永恆主你的上帝所厭惡的。

你那包銀的雕像和鍍金的鑄像、你們都要作為俗用，都要撒掉，如同月經布；對它說：『去吧！』

亞倫對他們說：『把你們的妻子和兒女耳朵上的金環摘下來，拿來給我。』眾民就把他們耳朵上的金環都摘下來，拿來給亞倫。亞倫從他們手裏接過來，用雕刻的器具雕造它，作成一隻鑄像的牛犢；他們就說：『以色列啊，這就是你們的神、那領你們從埃及地上來的！』
