What if there are fifty godly people in the city? Will you really wipe it out and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty godly people who are in it?

假令邑中有五十義人、亦必翦滅乎、不緣其五十義人、而悉赦宥乎、

邑中或有五十義人、則邑之人、豈可盡滅、何不緣義人、而赦其罪乎、

假如邑中有五十善人、主亦必翦滅乎、不緣邑中五十善人、而免其一邑乎、

What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it?

What if there are 50 godly people in the city? Will you really sweep it away? Won’t you spare the place because of the 50 godly people in it?

Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city. Will you then sweep away the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous who are in it?

Suppose you find fifty righteous people living there in the city— will you still sweep it away and not spare it for their sakes?

What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away instead of sparing the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people who are in it?

Peradventure there are fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou consume and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

If the LORD who commands armies had not left us a few survivors, we would have quickly become like Sodom, we would have become like Gomorrah.

The LORD said,“ Go up and down through the streets of Jerusalem. Look around and see for yourselves. Search through its public squares. See if any of you can find a single person who deals honestly and tries to be truthful. If you can, then I will not punish this city.

Finally Abraham said,“ May the Lord not be angry so that I may speak just once more. What if ten are found there?” He replied,“ I will not destroy it for the sake of the ten.”

“ Enter through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the way is spacious that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.But the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

and said,‘ Do not be afraid, Paul! You must stand before Caesar, and God has graciously granted you the safety of all who are sailing with you.’
