当你的手有能力做好事时，不要有所保留，不给应得的人；

因此在任何事上，你们希望别人怎样对待你们，你们也应当怎样对待别人。要知道，这就是律法和先知的教导。

每个人所当得的，你们都要给他：当得税的，就给他税；当得捐的，就给他捐；当受敬畏的，就敬畏他；当受尊敬的，就尊敬他。你们对任何人都不要亏欠什么；唯有在彼此相爱的事上，要常以为亏欠。实际上，爱别人的，就成全了律法。

照样，主也吩咐那些传福音的人，靠福音生活。但是，这些权利我一个也没有用过。我写这些并不是要人这样对待我，因为我宁愿死，也不愿意任何人使我所夸耀的落了空。

原来经上说：“牛踹谷的时候，不可笼住它的嘴。”又说：“工人配得自己的酬报。”
