The Lord appeared to Abram and said,“ To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

The Lord appeared to Abram at Shechem. He said,“ I will give this land to your family who comes after you.” So Abram built an altar there to honor the Lord, who had appeared to him.

亚伯兰九十九岁时，耶和华向亚伯兰显现，对他说：“我是全能的神，你当行在我面前，作纯全人。

就是他与亚伯拉罕所立的约，向以撒所起的誓；又把这约给雅各立为律例，给以色列立为永远的约；他说：“我要把迦南地赐给你，作为你们继业的份。”那时他们人数稀少，实在很少，在那地是寄居的；

后来耶和华在幔利的橡树那里向亚伯拉罕显现。那时是白天最热的时候，亚伯拉罕正坐在帐篷的入口。

神的各样应许，原是对亚伯拉罕和他的一个后裔说的。神并没有说“后裔们”，像是指着许多人；而是说“你的一个后裔”，像是指着一个人，这一位就是基督。

你所看见的一切地，我都必赐给你和你的后裔，直到永远。

也是他原先造祭坛的地方。亚伯兰就在那里呼求耶和华的名。

雅各就给那地方起名为毗努伊勒，因为他说：“我面对面看见了神，但我的性命得以保住。”

他又从那里迁移到伯特利东边的山地，并支搭帐篷；帐篷的西边是伯特利，东边是艾。他在那里也为耶和华筑了一座祭坛，呼求耶和华的名。

以撒就在那里筑了一座祭坛，呼求耶和华的名，并且在那里支搭帐篷。以撒的仆人们也在那里挖了一口井。

亚伯兰迁移帐篷，来到希伯仑，在幔利的橡树那里居住，并在那里为耶和华筑了一座祭坛。

这些人都怀着信仰死去，没有得到那些所应许的，却远远地看见并且欢迎它们，又承认自己在地上是异乡人，是寄居的。

看哪，耶和华站在梯子上方，说：“我是耶和华，你父亲亚伯拉罕的神、以撒的神。我必把你现在躺卧之地，赐给你和你的后裔。

不过弟兄们，你们就像以撒一样，是应许的儿女。

亚伯兰脸伏于地；神又对他说：

挪亚为耶和华筑了一座祭坛，并拿各样洁净的牲畜和各样洁净的飞鸟，在祭坛上献为燔祭。

他们来到神所指示他的地方，亚伯拉罕在那里筑了一座祭坛，摆好木柴，然后捆绑了他的儿子以撒，把他放在祭坛的木柴上。

你要寄居在这地，我必与你同在，并祝福你，因为我必把所有这些地都赐给你和你的后裔；我必确立我向你父亲亚伯拉罕所起的誓。

这就是说，肉身的儿女并不是神的儿女，只有应许的儿女才算是后裔。

在那里雅各立了一座祭坛，称它为伊利-伊罗伊-以色列。

就在那一天，耶和华与亚伯兰立约，说：“我已经把这地赐给你的后裔，从埃及河直到幼发拉底大河，
