其以聖神始、而以形跡終乎？豈爾之冥頑不靈、一至於此乎？

Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?

Are you so foolish? You began by the Holy Spirit. Are you now trying to finish God’s work in you by your own strength?

Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

All who want to make a good showing in the flesh try to compel you to be circumcised, simply so that they will not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.For those who are circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves, but they want to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh.But far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.However at that time, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those which by nature are not gods.But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles, to which you want to be enslaved all over again?You meticulously observe days and months and seasons and years.
