倘若我们是靠守律法去承受产业，我们就不是倚靠上帝的应许。但上帝是凭应许把产业赐给了亚伯拉罕。

因为承受产业，若本乎律法，就不本乎应许；但神是凭着应许，把产业赐给亚伯拉罕。

若云嗣業係據律法、則不復淵源於恩諾矣。然而嗣業、固天主所許於亞伯漢之恩賜也。

For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

The great gift that God has for us does not depend on the law. If it did, it would no longer depend on the promise. But God gave it to Abraham as a free gift through a promise.

For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.

For if the inheritance could be received by keeping the law, then it would not be the result of accepting God’s promise. But God graciously gave it to Abraham as a promise.

For if the inheritance is based on the law, it is no longer based on the promise; but God has graciously given it to Abraham through the promise.

这样，你们就不致懒散，可以效法那些凭信心和忍耐承受应许的人。当初，上帝向亚伯拉罕许下诺言的时候，因为没有比自己更大的可以凭着起誓，就凭自己起誓说：“我必赐福给你，使你子孙众多。”亚伯拉罕经过耐心的等待，得到了上帝的应许。

上帝应许将世界赐给亚伯拉罕和他的后裔，不是因为亚伯拉罕遵行了律法，而是因为他因信而成了义人。如果只有遵行律法的人才可以承受应许，信心就没有价值，上帝的应许也就落了空。因为有律法，就有刑罚；哪里没有律法，哪里就没有违法的事。所以，上帝的应许是借着人的信心赐下的，好叫这一切都是出于上帝的恩典，确保应许归给所有亚伯拉罕的子孙，不单是守律法的人，也包括一切效法亚伯拉罕信心的人。

祂怜悯我们的祖先，持守自己的圣约，就是祂对我们的先祖亚伯拉罕所起的誓，

有何神明像你一样赦免罪恶，饶恕你幸存子民的过犯？你不会永远发怒，因为你乐于施恩。你必再怜悯我们，将我们的罪恶践踏在脚下，把我们的一切过犯抛进深海。你必按古时给我们列祖的誓言，以信实待雅各，以慈爱待亚伯拉罕。

既然我们是儿女，就是继承人，是上帝的后嗣，并且与基督同做后嗣。所以，如果现在我们和基督一同受苦，将来也必和祂一同得荣耀。

我不废弃上帝的恩典，倘若靠遵行律法可以成为义人，基督的死便毫无意义了。

你们都借着信基督耶稣而成为上帝的儿女，

上帝曾向亚伯拉罕和他的后裔赐下应许，不过这里没有说“后裔们”——指许多人，而是说“你的后裔”——指一个人，就是基督。

因为祂没有忘记祂赐给仆人亚伯拉罕的神圣应许。

凡以遵行律法为本的人都在咒诅之下，因为圣经上说：“凡不遵行律法书上一切命令的人必受咒诅。”

你们若属于基督，就是亚伯拉罕的后裔，都是照着上帝的应许承受产业的人。

律法却不是以信心为本，而是说：“遵行的人必存活。”

祂扶助了自己的仆人以色列，祂要施怜悯给亚伯拉罕和他的子孙，直到永远，正如祂对我们祖先的应许。”
