They may serve in my sanctuary, having charge of the gates of the temple and serving in it; they may slaughter the burnt offerings and sacrifices for the people and stand before the people and serve them.

They might serve in my temple. They might be in charge of its gates. They might kill the burnt offerings and sacrifices for the people. And they might stand in front of the people and serve them in other ways.

They shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the temple and ministering in the temple. They shall slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before the people, to minister to them.

They may still be Temple guards and gatekeepers, and they may slaughter the animals brought for burnt offerings and be present to help the people.

Yet they will occupy my sanctuary, serving as guards at the temple gates and ministering at the temple. They will slaughter the burnt offerings and other sacrifices for the people and will stand before them to serve them.

Yet they shall be ministers in My sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the house and ministering in the house; they shall slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister to them.

他對我說：「向南的廂房是給殿內供職的祭司用的，

以下是殿門守衛的班次：可拉族亞薩的後代有可利的兒子米施利米雅。米施利米雅的長子是撒迦利亞，次子是耶疊，三子是西巴第雅，四子是耶提聶，五子是以攔，六子是約哈難，七子是以利約乃。俄別·以東的長子是示瑪雅，次子是約薩拔，三子是約亞，四子是沙甲，五子是拿坦業，六子是亞米利，七子是以薩迦，八子是毗烏利太。上帝特別賜福俄別·以東。他兒子示瑪雅有幾個兒子都很能幹，在各自的家族中做首領。他們是俄得尼、利法益、俄備得、以利薩巴。他們的親族以利戶和西瑪迦也很能幹。這些都是俄別·以東的子孫，他們和他們的兒子及親族共有六十二人，都是能幹稱職的人。米施利米雅的兒子及親族共十八人，都很能幹。米拉利的後代何薩的長子是申利，他本來不是長子，是被他父親立為長子的。次子是希勒迦，三子是底巴利雅，四子是撒迦利亞。何薩的兒子及親族共十三人。這些按族長分成小組的殿門守衛在耶和華的殿裡按班次供職，與他們的親族一樣。他們無論大小，都按照族系抽籤，以決定看守哪個門。示利米雅抽中東門，他兒子撒迦利亞是個精明的謀士，抽中北門。俄別·以東抽中南門，他兒子抽中庫房。書聘和何薩抽中西門和上行之路的沙利基門，兩班相對而立。每天有六個利未人守東門，四人守北門，四人守南門，守庫房的二人一組。守衛西面街道的有四人，守衛走廊的有二人。以上是可拉的子孫和米拉利的子孫守門的班次。

因為會眾中間有許多人沒有潔淨自己，利未人就為所有不潔之人宰逾越節的羊羔獻給耶和華。

然而，我要委派他們管理聖殿，辦理殿中所有的事務。

我已從以色列人中選出你們的利未親族歸給我，協助你們在會幕中司職。

一切都準備好後，依照王的吩咐，祭司站在自己的地方，利未人按照班次侍立。利未人宰殺逾越節的羊羔，祭司從他們手中接過血，灑在壇上，又剝去祭牲的皮。

耶和華對摩西說：「你去叫利未支派來協助亞倫祭司。他們要為亞倫和全體會眾在會幕司職，辦理聖幕的事務，也要負責看守會幕裡面的器具，為以色列人辦理聖幕的事務。你要把利未人交給亞倫父子們，因為他們是從以色列人中選出來協助亞倫的。你要指派亞倫父子們盡祭司的職分，其他人若走近聖幕，必被處死。」耶和華又對摩西說：「我從以色列人中揀選利未人代替以色列人所有的長子。利未人要屬於我，因為所有頭生的都屬於我。我殺死埃及人所有的長子和頭生的牲畜那天，已把以色列人所有的長子和頭生的牲畜都分別出來，使之聖潔，歸給我，我是耶和華。」耶和華在西奈曠野對摩西說：「你要按利未人的宗族和家系統計他們的人口，登記所有年齡在一個月以上的男性。」於是，摩西照耶和華的吩咐統計利未人。利未的兒子是革順、哥轄和米拉利。革順的兒子依次是立尼和示每。哥轄的兒子依次是暗蘭、以斯哈、希伯崙和烏薛。米拉利的兒子依次是抹利和姆示。他們按家系都屬於利未人的宗族。革順宗族有立尼和示每兩個家族，其中年齡在一個月以上的男性共七千五百人。革順宗族的人要在聖幕的後面，即西面安營，拉伊勒的兒子以利雅薩做首領。他們負責看守會幕，即聖幕、聖幕的罩棚、頂蓋和門簾、圍繞聖幕和祭壇的院子的帷幔、門簾、繩索及一切相關的物品。哥轄宗族有暗蘭家族、以斯哈家族、希伯崙家族和烏薛家族，其中年齡在一個月以上的男性共有八千六百人，他們負責看守聖所。哥轄宗族的人要在聖幕南面安營，烏薛的兒子以利撒反做首領。他們負責照管約櫃、桌子、燈臺、兩座壇、聖所裡面的器具、幔子等一切物品。亞倫祭司的兒子以利亞撒是利未人的最高首領，負責監督在聖所工作的人。米拉利宗族有抹利和姆示兩個家族，其中年齡在一個月以上的男性共六千二百人，亞比亥的兒子蘇列做首領。他們要在聖幕的北面安營，負責照管聖幕的木板、橫閂、柱子、帶凹槽的底座和聖幕的一切器具，以及院子四周的柱子、帶凹槽的底座、橛子和繩索。
