我必使你永遠荒涼，你的城市必沒有人居住；你們就知道我是耶和華。

I will make you desolate forever; your towns will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

惡以掃。我使以掃的山地荒涼，把他的產業給了曠野的豺狼。”如果以東說：“我們雖然遭破壞，但仍要把廢墟重建起來。”萬軍之耶和華這樣說：“他們只管建造，我卻要拆毀。人要稱他們為罪惡的境地，為耶和華永遠惱怒的子民。”

我的眼必不顧惜你，我也不憐恤你，我卻要按著你的行為，照著你中間可憎的事報應你，你們就知道我是耶和華。’

因為我曾指著自己起誓，波斯拉必成為令人驚駭、被人羞辱和咒詛的對象；它必變成荒野，它一切的城鎮都必永遠變成荒場。”這是耶和華的宣告。

因此，萬軍之耶和華以色列的神說：“我指著我的永生起誓：摩押人必要像所多瑪，亞捫人必定像蛾摩拉，成為刺草和鹽坑之所，永遠荒涼之地。我餘下的子民必擄掠他們，我國中所餘的要得著他們為業。”

“以東必成為令人驚駭的地方；每一個經過那裡的，都必因這地所遭受的一切創傷而驚駭，並且嗤笑它。以東必傾覆，像所多瑪、蛾摩拉，和它們的城鎮一樣（這是耶和華說的），必沒有人住在那裡，也必沒有人在那裡寄居。

我必使人和牲畜都在你們上面增多；他們必繁衍增多；我必使你們有人居住，像從前一樣，並要使你們比先前更蒙福。你們就知道我是耶和華。
