不放债取利，不犯罪作恶，反而公平待人，

他借东西给人不取利息，也不多要，他使自己的手远离罪恶，在人与人之间施行诚实的判断；

貸金不取利息、禁手作惡、以誠實鞫兩造、

貸人金、不取利、不迫索、與人交、不作惡、恆為善、

貸人金、不索利、不取息、禁手勿行不義、鞫二人之事、惟循真實、

He does not lend to them at interest or take a profit from them. He withholds his hand from doing wrong and judges fairly between two parties.

He does not charge interest when he lends money to them. He does not make money from them. He keeps himself from doing what is wrong. He judges cases fairly.

He grants loans without interest, stays away from injustice, is honest and fair when judging others,

He doesn’t lend at interest or for profit but keeps his hand from injustice and carries out true justice between men.

and if he does not lend money at interest or take interest, if he keeps his hand from injustice and executes true justice between one person and another,

If he has not exacted usury Nor taken any increase, But has withdrawn his hand from iniquity And executed true judgment between man and man;

he that hath not given forth upon interest, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true justice between man and man,

He doesn’t lend at interest or for profit but keeps his hand from wrongdoing and carries out true justice between men.

He[ that] hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase,[ that] hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,

does not engage in usury or charge interest, but refrains from wrongdoing, promotes true justice between men,

he who hasn’t lent to them with interest, hasn’t taken any increase from them, who has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true justice between man and man,

“ If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be like a moneylender to him, and you shall not exact interest from him.

These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace;

“ You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest.You may charge a foreigner interest, but you may not charge your brother interest, that the Lord your God may bless you in all that you undertake in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.

In you they take bribes to shed blood; you take interest and profit and make gain of your neighbors by extortion; but me you have forgotten, declares the Lord God.

“ If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you.Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God, that your brother may live beside you.You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor give him your food for profit.

Now there arose a great outcry of the people and of their wives against their Jewish brothers.For there were those who said,“ With our sons and our daughters, we are many. So let us get grain, that we may eat and keep alive.”There were also those who said,“ We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards, and our houses to get grain because of the famine.”And there were those who said,“ We have borrowed money for the king’s tax on our fields and our vineyards.Now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children are as their children. Yet we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but it is not in our power to help it, for other men have our fields and our vineyards.”I was very angry when I heard their outcry and these words.I took counsel with myself, and I brought charges against the nobles and the officials. I said to them,“ You are exacting interest, each from his brother.” And I held a great assembly against themand said to them,“ We, as far as we are able, have bought back our Jewish brothers who have been sold to the nations, but you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us!” They were silent and could not find a word to say.So I said,“ The thing that you are doing is not good. Ought you not to walk in the fear of our God to prevent the taunts of the nations our enemies?Moreover, I and my brothers and my servants are lending them money and grain. Let us abandon this exacting of interest.Return to them this very day their fields, their vineyards, their olive orchards, and their houses, and the percentage of money, grain, wine, and oil that you have been exacting from them.”

And I charged your judges at that time,‘ Hear the cases between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the alien who is with him.You shall not be partial in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be intimidated by anyone, for the judgment is God’s. And the case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’

Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute.Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.

“ You shall do no wrong in judgment, in measures of length or weight or quantity.

The former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens on the people and took from them for their daily ration forty shekels of silver. Even their servants lorded it over the people. But I did not do so, because of the fear of God.

Do you think you are a king because you compete in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Is not this to know me? declares the Lord.

Woe is me, my mother, that you bore me, a man of strife and contention to the whole land! I have not lent, nor have I borrowed, yet all of them curse me.

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another,do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”

He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil,

learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.

“ You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

Whoever multiplies his wealth by interest and profit gathers it for him who is generous to the poor.

“ You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.

I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from guilt.
