The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.

A person will die because of their own sins. A child will not be guilty because of what their parent did. And a parent will not be guilty because of what their child did. The right things a godly person does will be added to their account. The wrong things a sinful person does will be charged against them.

耶和華諭亞倫曰、爾及子孫眷屬、如干犯聖室者、必負其罪、爾及子孫為祭司而溺職者、亦必負其罪。

我見死人、自尊逮卑、立於位前、典籍與生命之書、盡展、死人被鞫、視其行為、依書所錄、

使諸會知眾人心腹腎腸、我常監察、視其所行而報之、

猶大王遣爾、諮諏於我、爾當告以色列族之上帝耶和華云、爾既聞斯言、知我譴責此邑、爰其民人、言必使其邑歸於寂寞、其民服於咒詛、爾則中心畏懼、卑以自牧、裂衣泣哭於我前、我許爾所祈、必使爾平康歸墓、然後降災此邑、不使爾目睹、使者聞言反命。

宜訓於有眾曰、善者必蒙綏祉、而獲善報、惡者必遘凶災、而有惡報、

人子以父之榮、偕其使者將臨、視人所行而報之、

人子、當告以色列家云、爾曹常言我任罪戾、日漸消亡、豈能得生、

耶和華曰、余有良臣、先患難、後結果、心無不悅、彼也、任人愆尤、使人咸知斯理、得稱為義、

則爾在天、俯聞其聲、在爾僕中、判其是非、以惡者為惡、罰其罪戾、以義者為義、賞其善行。

賞罰在我、我必速至、視人行為而報之、始末初終者、我也、守誡者、福必及之、可得生命、樹果入於邑門、凡梟獍、巫覡、淫亂、兇暴、拜偶像、好誑言者、出之邑外、

如人目擊其情、與知其事、被召為證、令其發誓、而不實告、於是取戾、

如人干我命、為所不當為、雖出無意、亦有過失、自取罪戾、

如是、基督自獻為眾受刑、祗一獻耳、厥後顯著、不復受刑、欲救所望之者、

深堪痛疾、子母是權、迫索是為、若此者生命豈能保乎、既作不端、必就死地、不保其生、自取罪戾、

身懸於木、為我受刑、令我去惡遷善、蓋以耶穌受鞭扑而醫爾、

物既獻我、越三日食之、是生瀆玩、必負罪愆、絕於民中。

則爾在天、居於明宮、俯念厥祈、赦宥其罪、天下人心、惟爾灼知、視其作為、而加報施、

我耶和華必鞫以色列族、視人所為、降以刑罰、故當悛改、免陷於罪、以致滅亡。

以色列族眾、必哭而葬之、屬耶羅破暗者、惟此子得葬於墓、蓋彼一人行善於以色列族上帝耶和華前。

爾身左側以卧、為以色列族負罪、視爾偃卧之日數幾何、則爾負其罪亦若是。

曰、以牲贖罪、為至聖之物、上帝賜之於爾、以任民愆、代為贖罪、於耶和華前、何不於聖地食之、

羊乃負罪、釋之適野、至於荒渺之地。
