Then, when I make atonement for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

我們曉得、律法無論說甚麼，都是向律法以內的人講的，好堵住每一個人的口，使全世界的人都伏在上帝審判之下；

主啊，你是對的，是我們滿面蒙羞，正如今日一樣；慚愧的是猶大人，是耶路撒冷居民，是以色列眾人、無論近處或遠處、在你趕逐他們到之各地的，都因他們對你表現了不忠實。永恆主啊，是我們滿臉蒙羞：慚愧的是我們的王、和首領跟父老，因為我們犯罪得罪了你。

我緘默不開口，因為是你作了的。

那時你們必想起你們的壞行徑、和不好的作為，就因你們的罪孽和可厭惡的事而討厭自己。主永恆主發神諭說：我這樣行、並不是為了你們的緣故，這是你們要知道的；以色列家啊，你們倒要為你們自己的行徑、而抱愧蒙羞呢。

你接納你姐妹、你大姐跟你小妹的時候，我要將她們賜給你為女兒，你就會追念你所行的而自覺慚愧；但這並不是因你跟她們立的約。

那麼可誇口的在哪裏呢？絕無可誇之餘地了。這無可誇是憑着甚麼法呢？憑着行為的法麼？不，乃是憑着信的法。

說：『我的上帝啊，我抱愧蒙羞，不敢向我的上帝仰面，因為我們的罪愆多到滅頂，我們的罪過大到滔天。

這樣，你必對我說：『他為甚麼還指摘人呢？誰反對過他的主意呢？』但是人哪，你到底是誰，你這跟上帝頂嘴的？被塑造的哪能對塑造他的說：「你為甚麼造我像這樣呢？」

拯救我們的上帝啊，求你因你名之榮耀的關係幫助我們；為你名的緣故援救我們，赦除我們的罪。

所以一切論斷人的人哪，你是無可推諉的。你在甚麼事上論斷別人，就在甚麼事上定你自己的罪；因為你這論斷人的人、正行着同樣的事。

誰使你跟別人有分別呢？你有甚麼不是領受的呢？既也是領受的，為甚麼誇口、好像不是領受的呢？

就是我們從前也都在其中，在我們肉體的私慾裏起居，行肉體上、心神上所意願的，生來就是該受上帝義怒的兒女，像會外人一樣——。然而上帝富於憐憫，因他愛我們的盛愛，竟在我們因過犯而死的時候、使我們和基督同活（你們得了救、就是靠着恩）。

活人為甚麼哀怨？人為甚麼因受的罪罰而發怨言呢？

因為我們從前也是無知、悖逆、受了迷惑，做各種私慾和宴樂的奴僕，在惡毒和嫉妒中度生活，滿有恨心，彼此相恨。但是我們的拯救者上帝的慈惠和仁慈顯現的時候，他救了我們，不是由於我們所行的有甚麼本於義的行為，乃是按照他的憐憫，藉着再生之洗和聖靈之更新力。聖靈是上帝藉着耶穌基督、我們的救主、豐豐富富傾注於我們身上的；好叫我們既因他的恩得稱為義，便可憑着盼望而承受永生。

『啊，我輕微，能答覆你甚麼？我只好用手摀口罷了。我說了一次，再不回答；說了兩次，就不再說。』

所以我們既本着信得稱為義，就藉着我們的主耶穌基督得與上帝相和；藉着他，我們已進於所站立的這恩典中，就因可得上帝之榮耀的那種盼望而歡喜誇勝。
