會堂的主管，因為耶穌在安息日治病，就氣忿忿地對群眾說：“有六天是應當作工的，你們可以在這六天裡來求醫，但在安息日卻不可以。”

六日要工作，但第七日是你們的聖日，要歸耶和華為休息的安息日。凡是在這日工作的，必須把他處死。

那城的長老要把母牛犢牽下去，到一個有活水長流的山谷，就是未曾耕種過、未曾撒過種的地方，在那裡要打折母牛犢的頸項。

現在這地的饑荒已經有兩年了，還有五年不能耕種，也沒有收成。

又派他們作千夫長、五十夫長，替他耕田、收他的莊稼、替他製造作戰的武器和戰車上的裝備。

就回去預備香料和香膏。安息日，她們遵著誡命安息。

六日要勞碌，作你一切工作。但第七日是耶和華你的神的安息日；這一日，你和你的兒女，你的僕婢和牲畜，以及住在你城裡的寄居者，不可作任何的工。因為耶和華在六日之內造天、地、海和其中的萬物，第七日就歇息了；所以耶和華賜福安息日，定為聖日。

耕地的牛和驢駒必吃加鹽的飼料，就是用鏟和叉所揚淨的。

“‘要遵守安息日為聖日，照著耶和華你神吩咐你的。六日要勞碌，作你一切工作。但第七日是屬於耶和華你神的安息日；這一日，你和你的兒女、僕婢、牛驢和一切牲畜，以及你城裡的寄居者，不可作任何的工，好使你的僕婢可以和你一樣享受安息。你要記住：你在埃及地作過奴僕；耶和華你的神用大能的手和伸出來的膀臂，把你從那裡領出來，因此耶和華你的神吩咐你要守安息日。
