Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded,“ We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”

Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said,“ All that the Lord has said we will do, and be obedient.”

And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that Jehovah hath spoken will we do, and be obedient.

He then took the covenant scroll and read it aloud to the people. They responded,“ We will do and obey everything that the Lord has commanded.”

And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

原來不用血，第一個約也不能成立，就是說，摩西按照律法向全體民眾宣講了所有的誡命之後，拿了牛犢和山羊的血，摻上水，用深紅色的羊毛和牛膝草，灑在那書卷上和全體民眾身上，說：「這是立約的血，是神吩咐給你們的。」然後，他又同樣地把血灑在會幕和服事用的所有器皿上。按照律法，幾乎一切都是用血潔淨的；沒有流血，就沒有赦免。既然那些諸天之上事物的模型，必須用這些祭物來潔淨，那天上事物的本體就必須用比這些更好的祭物來潔淨，

我藉著主吩咐你們，要把這封信讀給所有的弟兄聽。

誦讀了律法和先知書以後，會堂主管們派人來對他們說：「各位兄弟，如果有什麼鼓勵民眾的話，就請說吧。」

這封書信在你們那裡宣讀了以後，也一定要在勞迪西亞的教會中宣讀；你們也要宣讀從勞迪西亞轉來的書信。
