Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

因為公牛和山羊的血，不可能把罪孽除去。所以，基督進入世界的時候，他說：「神哪，祭物和供物不是你所希望的；你為我預備了一個身體。

晚餐後，他也照樣拿起杯來，說：「這杯是用我的血所立的新約。你們每逢喝的時候，應當如此行，為的是記念我。」

因為這是我的血，是為立約的，為許多人所流的，使罪得赦免。

願賜平安的神，就是藉著永恆之約的血，把群羊的大牧人我們的主耶穌從死人中領上來的那一位，

耶穌對他們說：「這是我的血，是為立約的，為許多人所流的。

就是按照父神的預知，藉著聖靈分別為聖，以致順從耶穌基督，又蒙他寶血所灑的人：願恩典與平安多多地加給你們！

晚餐後，他也照樣拿起杯來，說：「這杯是用我的血所立的新約，為你們所流的。

至於你，錫安哪，因著我與你立約的血，我必把你的被囚者從無水的坑裡釋放出來！

照樣，他也要使多國因他震驚；君王們要因他閉口。未曾講述給他們的事，他們必看見；他們未曾聽說的事，他們必領悟。」

在他裡面，我們藉著他的血，得蒙救贖、過犯得到赦免，都是出於神恩典的豐盛。

原來不用血，第一個約也不能成立，就是說，摩西按照律法向全體民眾宣講了所有的誡命之後，拿了牛犢和山羊的血，摻上水，用深紅色的羊毛和牛膝草，灑在那書卷上和全體民眾身上，說：「這是立約的血，是神吩咐給你們的。」然後，他又同樣地把血灑在會幕和服事用的所有器皿上。
