「但你要謹慎，殷勤保守你的心靈，免得忘記你親眼所看見的事，又免得在你一生的年日這些事離開你的心，總要把它們傳給你的子子孫孫。

不可與你們中間所剩下的這些國家往來。你們不可提他們神明的名，不可指着它們起誓，不可事奉它們，也不可敬拜它們。

萬軍之耶和華說：「在那日，我要從地上除滅偶像的名，使它不再被記得；我也必使這地不再有先知，不再有污穢的靈。

因為我必從她口中除掉諸巴力的名號，不再有人提這名號。

要謹慎，免得有人失去了神的恩典；免得有毒根生出來擾亂你們，因而使許多人沾染污穢，

只是務要謹守遵行耶和華的僕人摩西所吩咐你們的誡命和律法，愛耶和華－你們的神，行他一切的道，守他的誡命，緊緊跟隨他，盡心盡性事奉他。」

追逐別神的，他們的愁苦必增加；他們所澆奠的血我不獻上，我嘴唇也不提別神的名號。

你們要謹慎行事，不要像無知的人，要像智慧的人。

你們要分外謹慎，愛耶和華－你們的神。

他若恆久遵行我的誡命典章如今日一樣，我就必堅定他的國，直到永遠。』現今在以色列眾人眼前，在耶和華的會中，在我們神的垂聽下，你們務要遵行並尋求耶和華－你們神的一切誡命，如此你們就可以承受這美地，並留給你們的子孫，永遠為業。「我兒所羅門哪，你當認識耶和華－你父的神，全心樂意地事奉他，因為耶和華鑒察眾人的心，知道一切心思意念。你若尋求他，他必使你尋見；你若離棄他，他必永遠丟棄你。

因為，他們暗中所做的，就是連提起來都是可恥的。

尼波、巴力‧免（名字是改了的）、西比瑪；他們給建造的城另起別名。

我曾說：「我要謹慎我的言行，免得我的舌頭犯罪；惡人在我面前的時候，我要用嚼環勒住我的口。」

你們要對他們這樣說：「那些不是創造天地的神明，必從地上、從天下被除滅！」

要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，用火焚燒他們的亞舍拉，砍斷他們神明的雕刻偶像，並要從那地方除去他們的名。

「所以，你們為自己的緣故要分外謹慎；因為耶和華在何烈山，從火中對你們說話的那日，你們沒有看見任何形像。
