You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

Do not bow down to them or worship them. I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. I cause the sins of the parents to affect their children. I will cause the sins of those who hate me to affect even their grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,

You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me.

Do not bow in worship to them, and do not serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me,

耶和華恆忍、施恩之上帝、人蹈罪愆、可蒙赦宥、恆於惡者不蒙赦宥、禍及其身、自父及子、至三四世。

斷不容爾以他上帝匹我、此乃我耶和華之名也、故他上帝爾勿崇拜。

耶和華乃上帝、有不敬者、斷不容之、不敬之人、耶和華必以為敵、憤怒奮發、加以重罰、屢怒不已。

毋拜跪、毋崇奉、以我耶和華即爾之上帝、斷不容以他上帝匹我、惡我者禍之、自父及子、至三四世、

蓋爾上帝耶和華如火之燎、斷不容以他上帝匹之。

我命載諸册、必宣播之、降罰其身。彼與其祖、焚香山岡、辱我特甚、自取咎戾、我必罰之、適當其罪。

勿與爾中之遺民往來、勿稱其上帝之名、毋指以誓、毋服事、毋崇拜。

彼所奉事之上帝、爾勿崇拜、彼所作為、爾毋則傚、當摧其偶、毀其像。

善者福之、至千百世、惡者禍之、自父及子、皇矣上帝、厥名萬有之主耶和華。

爾之子女、緣爾行惡、必令其盤旋於曠野、歷四十年、待爾屍骸消滅。

厥祖行惡、顧耶和華念之、其母不善、毋宥之兮、

昔余有罪、爾勿念之弗忘、今遭患難、爾其矜予毋緩兮、

約書亞曰、爾不能事耶和華者、以耶和華乃聖、斷不容以他上帝匹之、故不赦爾罪愆。

恐爾上帝耶和華震怒、滅爾於地、蓋爾上帝耶和華斷不容以他上帝匹之。

彼以非上帝匹我、干我震怒、彼崇事虛無、使我忿懥、故我將子異民、使彼發奮、子頑民、使彼激勵。

使逆我之輩、強歸附予、我之選民、永膺多福兮。

然馬拿西作不善、干耶和華震怒、故耶和華之於猶大族怒猶未息。

昔爾亂國紀、害兆民、故不得宴然、以正邱首、作惡之人、其後必無令名、父既犯罪、戮及子孫、不復振興、不建邑城、不得寸土。

過摩西前曰、耶和華全能之上帝、仁慈矜憫、恆忍施恩、真實無妄、錫恩於人、至千百世、人蹈罪愆、可蒙赦宥、恆於惡者、不蒙赦宥、禍及其身、自父及子、至三四世。

隱刺、毀謗、怨上帝、狎侮、驕傲、矜誇、機詐、違逆父母、

故我耶和華必斥爾非、爰及子孫。

子孫有難、拯救無從、抱屈公庭、卒無昭雪。

孰能深思其故、奮然儆醒曰、材木之半、焚之可以烘餅炙肉、而供口腹、則其餘材、豈可作像、拜此可憎之榾柮。

勿作偶像、勿立偶像、勿勒像於石、而崇拜之、是我耶和華爾之上帝所禁。

爾觀亞哈卑以自牧、因此、亞哈尚存之日、我不降以禍災、迨及其子相繼、乃降災於其家。

世人惡爾、知其必先惡我、

爾曹猶有孑遺、處於敵國、為一己之愆尤、並前人之罪戾、日漸消亡。如其能任己愆、及前人之罪、自知差失、所行逆我、

大闢在位之時年饑、歷三載、大闢諮諏於耶和華。耶和華曰、緣掃羅及其全家、殘忍是行嘗殺基遍人。

惡我者、亦惡我父。我若在眾前、未行人所不能行者、則其人無罪、今其於我及我父、且見且惡之、

是以我遣先知、智人、士子就爾、殺者有之、釘十字架者有之、鞭於會堂者有之、在在窘逐者又有之、致流義人之血於地、罪皆歸爾、自義人亞伯之血、至巴拉家子撒加利亞、爾殺於殿壇間之血、我誠告爾、此事必歸斯世也、

人取為柴、燃之可以暖體、可以烘餅、復作上帝像、俯伏而拜。

昔耶和華與以色列族立約、命之曰、毋畏他上帝、毋崇拜、毋服事、毋祭祀、

淫亂之男女乎、豈不知狗世之情欲者、則逆上帝、凡狗世之情欲、則其違逆上帝也明矣、

迨乎士師既沒、以色列族喪其心術、較之前人尤甚、從他上帝而伏拜之、強項不馴、弗改其非。

爾曰、上帝降殃、罰及其嗣、我以為何不使其身受之、

如爾背爾上帝耶和華所命之約、服事崇拜他上帝、則耶和華必震怒爾、使爾速亡、於其所賜之腴壤。

彼築崇邱、干其憤怒、彼事偶像、攖其忿懥兮、

雖畏耶和華、又事偶像、其祖行是、子孫濟惡、迄於今日、亦若是焉。

體欲之情者、不服上帝法、故逆上帝、蓋服法而不能焉、

其勝猶大王約雅金也、耶和華聽之、遷上帝殿中器皿之半、返於示拿、藏於其上帝殿旁之庫、

惡上帝者、彰其果報、速行殲滅。

世不能惡爾而惡我、以我證其所行惡也、

使爾殘食子女。

亞馬謝既殺以東人凱旋、載西耳族之上帝像以歸、焚香崇拜、尊若上帝。

我必罰之、及其眷聚、凡縱私欲奉摩洛、效彼為非者、絕之民中。

彼所舉者、其狀若手、執余首髮、我為神所感、升於天地間、恍惚若睹異象、導我至耶路撒冷之內門、其門向北、見有偶像、上帝所斷不容以匹己者、

我豈可激主怒乎、我豈勝於主乎、

曰、若俯伏拜我、悉以予爾、

其夫知之、不勝憤怒、欲報厥怨、必不寛宥、不許金贖、不受厚禮、終懷深憾。

萬有之主耶和華云、昔以色列族出自埃及、亞馬力人伏於途間、我常不忘。今可攻之、殲滅所有、毋加矜恤、男女、童稚、嬰孩、牛羊駝驢、悉當殺戮。

違我者徒害己命、憾我者自取死亡。

我刃閃爍、我磨礪之、我秉公義、凡逆我者罰之、憾我者報之、
