“ You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

“ Do not make for yourself statues of gods that look like anything in the sky. They may not look like anything on the earth or in the waters either.

“ You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

“ You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.

Do not make an idol for yourself, whether in the shape of anything in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.

“ You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth.

“ You shall not make for yourself a carved image— any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;

Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Do not make an idol for yourself, whether in the shape of anything in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.

昔在何烈山、耶和華由火中諭汝、未睹其像、故當謹恪、恐壞爾心術、雕刻偶像、或似男女、作像像之、或似走獸飛鳥、或似地上昆蟲、水中鱗介、爾仰觀天象、有日月星辰焉、恐爾迷眩、奉事崇拜之、天下億兆既行此、爾之上帝耶和華亦姑聽之、

雕刻鎔鑄之像、人工所作、耶和華所惡、有製而立於私地者、當服咒詛、民必群應曰、固心所願。

凡此庶民、崇奉偶像、喜事雕刻之形、俱必使之蒙羞、凡厥天使、咸當崇拜乎主兮、

既為上帝亦子、則上帝之體、不可以若金、若銀、若石、人工機巧琢之、

勿崇偶像、勿鑄上帝、我耶和華乃爾之上帝。

毋雕偶像、天上地下水中百物、勿作像像之、

凡作偶像者、必生愧怍、必駭而奔。

崇拜偶像、愚蠢孰甚、欲知其妄、以木為證。擣銀使薄、至自大失、金自烏法、冶人鎔之、匠人製之、紫赤之布為衣、良工織之。

惟彼偶像、崇之者愚蠢、鑄之者蒙羞、偶像偽物。內無生氣。悉無靈爽、妄人所作、天災一至、與眾偕亡。雅各所崇之上帝不若是、彼造萬物、簡以色列族為民、萬有之主耶和華其名也。○

其一天使出、傾鼎於地、凡受獸印誌拜厥像者、即生毒瘍、

不崇永生上帝之榮、反拜速朽世人禽獸昆蟲之像、

予入而觀之、有不潔之獸、昆蟲之狀、及以色列族所拜諸偶像、繪於壁四周、

彼之偶像、金銀而已、人手所雕作兮。有口不言、有目不睹兮、有耳不能聞聲、有鼻不知辨臭兮、有手不可提挈。有足不可步履、有喉舌不可談吐兮、造作之、倚賴之、與彼無異兮、

又一天使從其後、大聲曰、如有拜獸及獸像、於顙於手、受其印誌者、則上帝必怒之、俾飲鴆酒、盛酒於杯、厥味甚烈、亦以火與硫、困苦其人、於羔及聖天使前、如有拜獸及獸像、或受其印誌者、則困之以火、炎上不熄、晝夜無少安、

慎勿忘爾上帝耶和華所立之約、勿雕偶像、干犯厥命、蓋爾上帝耶和華如火之燎、斷不容以他上帝匹之。厥後爾久居斯土生子傳孫、自壞心術、雕刻偶像、作惡於汝上帝耶和華前、以干厥怒。

保羅乃惑眾、言手所作者非上帝、不第於以弗所、殆徧亞西亞矣、此爾曹所見所聞也、如是、不特我業危、為人所忽、即大上帝亞氐米殿、亦歸烏有、且徧亞西亞、及天下所奉亞氐米之顯赫將滅矣、眾聞此、怒甚、呼曰、大哉、以弗所人之亞氐米也、舉邑擾攘、執保羅之同行者、馬其頓人該由、亞哩達古、一心蜂擁、入觀劇所、保羅欲入見、眾門徒不許、亞西亞宗伯數人、與保羅為友、遣人勸之、勿入觀劇所、眾譁不一、會眾紛亂、多不知何為而集、猶太人推亞力山大出眾前、亞力山大搖手、示民欲自訴、眾知其為猶太人、同聲呼曰、大哉、以弗所人之亞氐米也、如此者約一時、司書撫眾曰、以弗所人、孰不知我邑、亦拜大上帝亞丘米自天所降之像乎、

凡恃偶像、稱金鑄之形為上帝者、必蒙愧怍、必駭而奔。

我名耶和華、必不使我之榮光、為他人所奪、我之聲譽為偶像所得、

作偶像者、悉為虛妄、其所慕者無益、彼明知其不見不聞、當生愧怍。誰鑄無益之偶像、以像上帝哉、豈非人乎、宜其同儔、咸生愧赧、使彼聚會、屹立於此、必令其戰慄不勝、慙恧無地。鐵工作斧、炭以煆之、鎚以治之、竭一臂之力、使之成器、若其不飲不食、氣力俱廢。木工用準繩、循規矩、運其利器、作人之形、窮極華美、置之於室、伐柏香木以及橡櫟、此皆木之堅者、亦植杉樹、得雨露之養、人取為柴、燃之可以暖體、可以烘餅、復作上帝像、俯伏而拜。材木之半、焚之可以備餚、可以炙肉、食之果腹、向火得暖、人樂以觀火。更有餘木、以製偶像、以像上帝、俯伏而拜、禱曰、誠我上帝、爾其救予、維彼不識不知、其目若塗以泥、其心不明、孰能深思其故、奮然儆醒曰、材木之半、焚之可以烘餅炙肉、而供口腹、則其餘材、豈可作像、拜此可憎之榾柮。彼心昏迷、所望成空、若食燼餘而不悟、不知右手所作、悉屬虛妄。

爾以何物譬予、與我相比儗哉。人傾囊、出其金銀、權其輕重、以畀工人、俾鑄上帝像、俯伏崇拜、負之於肩、置諸一所、立而不動、呼而莫應、望其拯難、而彼不能。爾曹陷於罪者、當深思之、其無愧於丈夫。

爾曹以何物比儗上帝、以何像像之、工塑偶像、飾以金箔、垂以銀鏈、惟彼貧乏、無寶堪獻、遴選堅木、而僱巧工、俾作木偶、歷久不壞。

其餘未死於此災者、不改厥行、仍事諸鬼、拜不見、不聞、不行、金銀銅木石之偶像、

億兆之禮儀虛偽、有入林叢、以斧伐木、以工治之、以金銀飾之、以鎚釘之、使不搖動、屹立若柱、不能言、不能行、藉人肩負、彰癉不加、爾勿畏之。

異邦之偶像、金銀而已、人手所雕作兮。有口不言、有目不見、耳不聞聲音、鼻不通呼吸兮、造作之、依賴之、與彼無異兮。

籌思既竟、作二金犢、告民曰、詣耶路撒冷甚難、昔導以色列族出自埃及之上帝即此。

昔上帝諭大闢、及其子所羅門曰、在以色列族支派中、簡耶路撒冷、創造殿宇、為籲我名之所、歷世勿替、如以色列族、恪守我命、循我僕摩西所傳之律例、禁令法度、我不使之復行遷徙、離我所錫列祖之地、然上帝雖有是命、而馬拿西竟作亞大綠像、置於殿間、誘猶大族耶路撒冷民作惡、較耶和華使以色列族所滅之異邦人尤甚。

於獸前行異跡、惑天下億兆、使人作像、奉受傷得生之獸、俾有神憑海獸之像、而作人言、令殺不拜獸像者、

謂我曰摩西導我出埃及、今彼不知所往、爾盍鑄上帝像、為我先導。

我所諭之道、彼違甚速、鑄犢崇拜祭祀、稱之曰以色列族乎、導爾出埃及之上帝、即此。

民見摩西遲回於山不下、則集亞倫前、曰摩西率我出埃及、今彼不知所往、爾盍鑄上帝像、為我先導。
