On that day explain to your son,‘ This is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

當那日，你要告訴你的兒子說：『這是因耶和華在我出埃及的時候為我所行的事。

其時當告汝子云、是禮也、乃誌出埃及時、耶和華為我所行者、

當告子孫、昔出埃及、耶和華拯我儕、故行此禮。

當日宜告爾子云、我行此禮、以誌我出伊及時主向我所行之事、

On that day tell your son,‘ I do this because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

On that day talk to your child. Say,‘ I’m doing this because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

You shall tell your son on that day,‘ It is because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

“ On the seventh day you must explain to your children,‘ I am celebrating what the Lord did for me when I left Egypt.’

And you shall tell your son on that day, saying,‘ It is because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

And you shall tell your son in that day, saying,‘ This is done because of what the Lord did for me when I came up from Egypt.’

And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying, It is because of that which Jehovah did for me when I came forth out of Egypt.

On that day explain to your son,‘ This is because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying,[ This is done] because of that[ which] the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.

You are to tell your son on that day,‘ It is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

You shall tell your son in that day, saying,‘ It is because of that which Yahweh did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

“ In the future, when your son asks you,‘ What does this mean?’ say to him,‘ By the strength of his hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.

God, we have heard with our ears— our ancestors have told us— the work you accomplished in their days, in days long ago:

The living, only the living can thank you, as I do today; a father will make your faithfulness known to children.

When your children ask you,‘ What does this ceremony mean to you?’you are to reply,‘ It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt when he struck the Egyptians, and he spared our homes.’” So the people knelt low and worshiped.

“ Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you don’t forget the things your eyes have seen and so that they don’t slip from your mind as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your grandchildren.The day you stood before the LORD your God at Horeb, the LORD said to me,‘ Assemble the people before me, and I will let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me all the days they live on the earth and may instruct their children.’

and so that you may tell your son and grandson how severely I dealt with the Egyptians and performed miraculous signs among them, and you will know that I am the LORD.”

things we have heard and known and that our ancestors have passed down to us.We will not hide them from their children, but will tell a future generation the praiseworthy acts of the LORD, his might, and the wondrous works he has performed.He established a testimony in Jacob and set up a law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach to their childrenso that a future generation— children yet to be born— might know. They were to rise and tell their childrenso that they might put their confidence in God and not forget God’s works, but keep his commands.Then they would not be like their ancestors, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not loyal and whose spirit was not faithful to God.

Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
