俾爾洞識真主；開爾靈眼、俾明聖召之希望無窮、諸聖光榮嗣業之蘊藏無限、

并且照明你们心中的眼睛，使你们知道他的恩召有何等指望，他在圣徒中得的基业有何等丰盛的荣耀；

照亮你们心中的眼睛，使你们知道他呼召你们来得的指望是什么，他在圣徒中所得荣耀的基业是何等丰盛，

照亮你们心中的眼睛，使你们知道他呼召你们来得的指望是什么，他在圣徒中所得荣耀的基业是何等丰盛，

我也求上帝照亮你们心中的眼睛，使你们知道祂的呼召给你们带来了何等的盼望，祂应许赐给众圣徒的产业有何等丰富的荣耀，

并且使你们心灵的眼睛明亮，可以知道他的呼召有怎样的盼望；他基业的荣耀，在圣徒中是多么的丰盛；

我也求神照亮你们心中的眼睛，使你们知道：属他召唤的盼望到底是什么；在圣徒中间，他继业荣耀的丰盛到底是什么；

並且照明你們心中的眼睛，使你們知道他的恩召有何等指望，他在聖徒中得的基業有何等豐盛的榮耀；

照亮你們心中的眼睛，使你們知道他呼召你們來得的指望是甚麼，他在聖徒中所得榮耀的基業是何等豐盛，

照亮你們心中的眼睛，使你們知道他呼召你們來得的指望是甚麼，他在聖徒中所得榮耀的基業是何等豐盛，

我也求上帝照亮你們心中的眼睛，使你們知道祂的呼召給你們帶來了何等的盼望，祂應許賜給眾聖徒的產業有何等豐富的榮耀，

並且使你們心靈的眼睛明亮，可以知道他的呼召有怎樣的盼望；他基業的榮耀，在聖徒中是多麼的豐盛；

叫你們心的眼睛蒙了光照，你們就可以知道他的呼召所喚起的是何等的指望，他的基業在眾聖者中間的榮耀是何等的豐富，

我也求神照亮你們心中的眼睛，使你們知道：屬他召喚的盼望到底是什麼；在聖徒中間，他繼業榮耀的豐盛到底是什麼；

心目克明、俾知爾蒙其召所望何如、彼於諸聖徒之業、其榮之豐富何如、

心目克明、知其召爾所望之福何如、聖徒之業、其富有何如、

明爾心目、使爾知天主召爾有望、其望何如、天主以聖徒為業、其榮之豐盛何如、

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

I pray that you may understand more clearly. Then you will know the hope God has chosen you to receive. You will know that what God will give his holy people is rich and glorious.

having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called— his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

I pray that the perception of your mind may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints,

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

– since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened– so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

欲汝啟眾民萬邦之目、使自黑暗轉向光明、脫沙殫之掌握而歸依天主、俾以信予之故、而獲罪赦、與一切因信成聖者同嗣洪基。」

夫天主昔嘗作光於黑暗之中矣、今乃照耀於吾人之心中、俾吾人得藉基督耶穌之聖容、而洞識天主之光榮。

嗚呼、天父愛吾人之深、待吾人之厚、有不能言喻者焉。吾人竟蒙恩召、得稱為天主之子女、而亦實為天主之子女矣。然則吾人之不容於世、不亦宜乎；即天主亦未嘗見容於世也。愛友乎、吾人今茲已為天主之子女矣。前途之光明、不可思議。惟當吾主顯現之日、吾人必獲見其本來面目、而酷肖之、此則吾人之所知也。凡向天父懷此望德者、亦必努力自致聖潔、以期克配聖潔之天父也。

吾人托庇聖子、仰賴寶血、得蒙拯贖、滌除夙穢；實憑天主之豐恩厚澤。

按其無窮之光榮、使爾內心生活、得因其聖神而自強不息、

蓋爾等本屬昏昏、今則因主而為昭昭矣。故行事當光明正大、庶不愧為光明之子。

遂啟其明悟、使領會經旨。

發我之矇。宅心知訓。

合為一體、融於一神。蓋爾等蒙召之時、固受有同一希望、

振作精神、為道奮鬥、把握永生、無忝汝之聖召、無負汝曩日當眾發表之弘願。

吾人托其恩澤、乃得免罪復義、而承嗣永生之望焉。

爾等當一憶曩昔初蒙光照之日、爾等如何備嘗艱苦、頻遭橫逆、

因此吾儕不輟為爾祈禱、求我天主使爾無忝聖召；運其宏能、成爾善志；施其化工、充爾信德：

是故吾以因主被囚之身、剴切勸爾修身砥行、無忝爾之聖召、

斯民之心、已成頑梗；厥耳重聽、厥目自閉、若恐其目之有見、耳之有聞、心之有悟、幡然回頭、而獲救於我也。」

夫我乃諸聖中之至微者、竟亦蒙此殊恩、得在異邦人中弘宣基督不可思議之厚澤、

蓋斯世之君、已矇不信者之心、以致基督榮耀福音之真光、亦無由照入；而基督固天主之肖影也。

蓋吾人之得救也、實有恃乎望德；然已見之望、非望也；夫人於目前之事、亦何所用其望乎？正惟不見、故渴望之、且堅忍熱烈而期待之也。

蓋人若曾蒙光照、曾味靈寵、曾受聖神、

翼翼事主、翹足企首、仰望真福、與夫大主宰及吾救主耶穌基督之光臨。

然大慈天主、既召爾等與基督同享無窮光榮、一俟爾等略受挫折以後、必將親自予爾等以成全、賜爾等以堅貞、而充爾等以神力也。

以篤永望；此望也、爾等於福音之真傳中、夙已聞之、且為爾等預儲於天矣。

務使基督之平安、主爾心中。爾等之蒙召而為一體者、正為此耳。亦宜恆懷天恩、無忘大德、

蓋吾人之得因基督而倖成天主之眾嗣者、實由淵然深識、匠心獨運之天主所預定

是在爾等篤守信德、確乎不拔、以保因聞福音而得之希望而已。此福音已布於普天生靈、而我葆樂竟得供役於斯。

不寧惟是、吾人亦知人苟能真心愛天主、則天主必使天地萬物同力相助、而亨通之。如此之人、亦即天主依其聖意而見召者也。蓋天主所預寵者、乃預簡之、俾克肖其聖子、欲使其聖子成為眾子中之冢息耳。故其所預簡者、必從而召之；其所召者、更從而義之；其所義者、更從而榮之。

蓋吾人惟恃聖神而起信心、始有成義之望耳。

堅忍所以致純熟、純熟則有望、有望則決無失望之虞矣。蓋天主之愛、已憑其所賜於吾人之聖神、而沛然傾注於吾人之心矣。

聚精會神、看定目標、奮赴前程、必欲自附於基督耶穌、以臻上達庶幾無負天主之寵召。

勿可以惡報惡、以暴酬暴。要之、咒罵由人、祝福在我；庶幾無忝聖召、自求多福。

伏維吾主耶穌基督及天主聖父、既自始寵愛吾人、而惠賜吾人以無窮之慰望、

爾應恆念昔時爾本與基督相隔、處於義塞社會之外、於盟約恩諾為局外人、在世無所仰望、不識天主。

務使爾等立身處世、無忝天主、以副其召爾共享天國及光榮之美意。

可頌哉、吾主耶穌基督之天主聖父也！天主大慈大悲、藉耶穌基督之復活、予吾人以新生、

吾人既屬旦晝、可不恆懷惕若、終日乾乾、擁信愛以為甲、戴望德以為胄、而期待救恩乎。

推雅推喇婦呂底亞者、市布為業、夙敬天主、既聆大道、主復啟迪其衷、命於葆樂所言、悉心領受。
