From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

主降臨西乃山、自天訓之、賜以正直之典章、真實之律法、至善之條例、誡命、

慎勿棄語爾者、當時在地傳命者、彼眾棄之、不得免刑、況由天而言者、我儕背之、焉能免刑、

眾民見雷電交作、角鳴甚厲、山上騰煙、遂退而遠立、謂摩西曰、求爾與我言、我聽之、願天主不與我言、恐我死亡、摩西謂民曰、毋懼、蓋天主降臨為試爾、又為使爾恆敬畏之、俾爾不至犯罪、於是民遠立、惟摩西前、入於密雲、至天主前、主諭摩西曰、爾告以色列人云、我自天與爾言、為爾所睹、

爾所至者、非彼可捫之山、在彼有烈火、密雲、幽暗、暴風、

主之榮光顯於西乃山、雲蔽山六日、至第七日、主自雲中召摩西、
