Give the people these orders:‘ You are about to pass through the territory of your relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. They will be afraid of you, but be very careful.

Here are the orders I want you to give the people. Tell them,‘ You are about to pass through the territory of your relatives. They are from the family line of Esau. They live in Seir. They will be afraid of you. But be very careful.

and command the people,“ You are about to pass through the territory of your brothers, the people of Esau, who live in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. So be very careful.

Give these orders to the people:“ You will pass through the country belonging to your relatives the Edomites, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. The Edomites will feel threatened, so be careful.

以東侯伯、俱已驚惶、摩押英雄、無不悚惕、迦南居民、盡皆喪膽、

勿憾以東人、因與爾為兄弟、勿厭惡伊及人、因爾昔於伊及曾為客旅、

則可純潔無疵、為天主之子、無可指摘、在此邪僻詭異詭異或作乖戾之世、可照耀其中、如燭世之光、

摩押人甚懼以色列人、因其人多勢眾、摩押人緣以色列人之故、心甚憂惶、摩押人謂米甸諸長老曰、今此眾必以我四圍所有、盡行吞食、如牛之囓盡田間草萊然、當是時、西撥子巴勒為摩押王、

爾光亦當如是照於人前、使其見爾之善行、而歸榮於爾在天之父、○

遂謂眾曰、慎哉、勿貪婪、蓋人之生命、不在家貲豐裕、

因爾向爾弟雅各行強暴、必受辱蒙羞、被翦絕至永遠、當日爾見外邦之人、掠其貨財、掠其貨財或作擄其軍旅異族之人、入其邑門、為耶路撒冷掣籤、爾立於旁、爾若敵中之一、爾弟遇害之日、爾不當旁觀、猶大族喪敗之日、爾不當欣喜、彼遭難之日、爾不當口出傲慢之言、我民遭禍之日、爾不當入其邑門、彼遭禍之日、爾不當旁立、觀其受苦、彼遭禍之日、爾不當伸手、攘其貨財、

今我將返本族、我以此民後日如何待爾民告爾、乃作歌曰、比珥子巴蘭曰、目開展之人曰、得聞天主言、得知至上主之妙義、得觀全能者之異象、身臥而目明之人曰、有我所見、但不屬今時、有我所觀、但不係近日、明星將出自雅各、秉大權者將興自以色列、必攻擊摩押四圍、誅滅塞特諸苗裔、以東必為其所獲、其敵之地西珥、必得以為業、以色列必強盛、

爾當以智慧待彼教會外之人、愛惜光陰、

慎爾所行、勿效無智者、宜效智者、
