May God give them a bellyful of trouble. May God rain down his anger upon them.

But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.”

“ The enemy boasted,‘ I will chase them and catch up with them. I will plunder them and consume them. I will flash my sword; my powerful hand will destroy them.’But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

Father, bring glory to your name.” Then a voice spoke from heaven, saying,“ I have already brought glory to my name, and I will do so again.”

The people gave him a great ovation, shouting,“ It’s the voice of a god, not of a man!”Instantly, an angel of the Lord struck Herod with a sickness, because he accepted the people’s worship instead of giving the glory to God. So he was consumed with worms and died.

“‘ This is what the dream means, Your Majesty, and what the Most High has declared will happen to my lord the king.

When people are saying,“ Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape.

While they drank from them they praised their idols made of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.Suddenly, they saw the fingers of a human hand writing on the plaster wall of the king’s palace, near the lampstand. The king himself saw the hand as it wrote,
