And Jehovah said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb- line. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumb- line in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more;

Yahweh said to me,“ Amos, what do you see?” I said,“ A plumb line.” Then the Lord said,“ Behold, I will set a plumb line in the middle of my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.

“人子啊，主耶和华对以色列地如此说：结局到了，结局到了地的四境！现在你的结局已经临到，我必使我的怒气归与你，也必按你的行为审判你，照你一切可憎的事刑罚你。我眼必不顾惜你，也不可怜你，却要按你所行的报应你，照你中间可憎的事刑罚你。你就知道我是耶和华。“主耶和华如此说：有一灾，独有一灾；看哪，临近了！结局来了，结局来了，向你兴起。看哪，来到了！境内的居民哪，所定的灾临到你，时候到了，日子近了，乃是哄嚷并非在山上欢呼的日子。我快要将我的忿怒倾在你身上，向你成就我怒中所定的，按你的行为审判你，照你一切可憎的事刑罚你。我眼必不顾惜你，也不可怜你，必按你所行的报应你，照你中间可憎的事刑罚你。你就知道击打你的是我耶和华。

耶和华说：“你弃绝了我，转身退后；因此我伸手攻击你，毁坏你。我后悔甚不耐烦。

我必以公平为准绳，以公义为线铊。冰雹必冲去谎言的避所；大水必漫过藏身之处。”

我必用量撒玛利亚的准绳和亚哈家的线铊拉在耶路撒冷上，必擦净耶路撒冷，如人擦盘，将盘倒扣。

但他必以涨溢的洪水淹没尼尼微，又驱逐仇敌进入黑暗。尼尼微人哪，设何谋攻击耶和华呢？他必将你们灭绝净尽；灾难不再兴起。

耶和华的话又临到我说：“耶利米，你看见什么？”我说：“我看见一根杏树枝。”耶和华对我说：“你看得不错；因为我留意保守我的话，使得成就。”耶和华的话第二次临到我说：“你看见什么？”我说：“我看见一个烧开的锅，从北而倾。”

他问我说：“你看见什么？”我回答说：“我看见一飞行的书卷，长二十肘，宽十肘。”

神啊，有何神像你，赦免罪孽，饶恕你产业之余民的罪过，不永远怀怒，喜爱施恩？
