犹大王亚撒利雅三十八年，耶罗波安的儿子撒迦利雅在撒玛利亚作以色列王六个月。他行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，效法他列祖所行的，不离开尼八的儿子耶罗波安使以色列人陷在罪里的那罪。雅比的儿子沙龙背叛他，在百姓面前击杀他，篡了他的位。

以色列带着一切所有的，起身来到别是巴，就献祭给他父亲以撒的神。

不要往伯特利寻求，不要进入吉甲，不要过到别是巴；因为吉甲必被掳掠，伯特利也必归于无有。”

我讨以色列罪的日子，也要讨伯特利祭坛的罪；坛角必被砍下，坠落于地。

那指着撒玛利亚牛犊起誓的说：‘但哪，我们指着你那里的活神起誓。’又说：‘我们指着别是巴的神道起誓。’这些人都必仆倒，永不再起来。”

你的圣民不过暂时得这产业；我们的敌人已经践踏你的圣所。

我又要毁坏你们的邱坛，砍下你们的日像，把你们的尸首扔在你们偶像的身上；我的心也必厌恶你们。我要使你们的城邑变为荒凉，使你们的众圣所成为荒场；我也不闻你们馨香的香气。

以撒从那里上别是巴去。当夜耶和华向他显现，说：“我是你父亲亚伯拉罕的神，不要惧怕！因为我与你同在，要赐福给你，并要为我仆人亚伯拉罕的缘故，使你的后裔繁多。”以撒就在那里筑了一座坛，求告耶和华的名，并且支搭帐棚；他的仆人便在那里挖了一口井。

伯亚文的邱坛，就是以色列取罪的地方必被毁灭；荆棘和蒺藜必长在他们的祭坛上。他们必对大山说：“遮盖我们！”对小山说：“倒在我们身上！”
