约西亚还在玛拿西、以法莲、西缅，远至拿弗他利的各城邑及其周围的荒废之地做了同样的事情。他拆毁祭坛和亚舍拉神像，把偶像磨成粉末，砍掉以色列境内所有的香坛，然后回到耶路撒冷。

不要去伯特利求问，不要进入吉甲，也不要前往别示巴，因为吉甲人必被掳去，伯特利也必化为乌有。”你们要寻求耶和华，才能存活。否则，祂要在约瑟家如烈火爆发，吞噬伯特利，无人能扑灭。

你现在回去带领这些百姓，往我指示你的地方去，我的天使必在你前面引路。只是到我惩罚的日子，我必因他们的罪惩罚他们。”

当一切都办妥后，所有在场的以色列人就前往犹大各城邑，打碎神柱，砍倒亚舍拉神像，又拆毁犹大、便雅悯、以法莲、玛拿西境内所有的丘坛和祭坛，然后各自返回自己的城邑和家园。

“所以，我耶和华要使撒玛利亚沦为荒野的废墟，成为种葡萄的地方。我要把她的石头抛进山谷，直到露出她的根基。她所有的神像都要被打碎，她所得的淫资都要化为灰烬；我要毁灭她的一切偶像。她以淫资得来的偶像，也要被用作妓女的淫资。”

上帝的仆人奉耶和华的命令向祭坛喊道：“祭坛啊，祭坛啊，耶和华说，必有一子在大卫家出生，他名叫约西亚。他要在你上面杀死这些献祭的祭司，在你上面焚烧人的骨头。”当日，他又说：“耶和华说要给你们一个征兆，这坛必破裂，坛上的灰必撒出来。”耶罗波安王听了他的话，就伸手指着他说：“给我拿住他！”但王伸出来的手僵住了，不能收回。这时，祭坛破裂了，坛上的灰也撒了出来，应验了上帝的仆人奉耶和华之命所说的征兆。

我看见主站在祭坛旁，祂说：“要击打柱顶，使殿的根基震动；要打碎柱顶，使殿宇坍塌压死众人。侥幸生还的，我要用刀剑杀掉，没有一个能逃脱，没有一个能幸免。
