Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:“ An enemy, one surrounding the land, Will take down your fortifications from you, And your citadels will be looted.”

故主耶和華曰、將有敵人環繞斯土、敗爾力、掠爾第、

故主耶和華曰、必有敵人、環攻斯土、破爾城垣、毀爾宮殿、

故主天主曰、必有敵人環攻斯地、傾毀爾鞏固之城、傾毀爾鞏固之城或作使爾力微弱爾之宮殿必被劫奪、

Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ An enemy will overrun your land, pull down your strongholds and plunder your fortresses.”

So the Lord and King says,“ Enemies will take over your land. They will pull down your places of safety. They will rob your forts.”

Therefore thus says the Lord God:“ An adversary shall surround the land and bring down your defenses from you, and your strongholds shall be plundered.”

Therefore,” says the Sovereign Lord,“ an enemy is coming! He will surround them and shatter their defenses. Then he will plunder all their fortresses.”

Therefore, the Lord GOD says: An enemy will surround the land; he will destroy your strongholds and plunder your citadels.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ An adversary shall be all around the land; He shall sap your strength from you, And your palaces shall be plundered.”

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: An adversary there shall be, even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be plundered.

Therefore, the Lord God says: An enemy will surround the land; he will destroy your strongholds and plunder your citadels.

Now in the fourth year of King Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Shalmaneser king of Assyria marched against Samaria and besieged it.And at the end of three years they captured it; in the sixth year of Hezekiah, which was the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was captured.Then the king of Assyria led Israel into exile to Assyria, and put them in Halah and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

They will not return to the land of Egypt; But Assyria— he will be their king Because they refused to return to Me.And the sword will whirl against their cities, And will destroy their oracle priests And consume them, because of their counsels.

The Lord will bring on you, on your people, and on your father’s house such days as have not come since the day that Ephraim separated from Judah— the days of the king of Assyria.”On that day the Lord will whistle for the fly that is in the remotest part of the canals of Egypt and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.They will all come and settle on the steep ravines, on the ledges of the cliffs, on all the thorn bushes, and on all the watering places.On that day the Lord will shave with a razor, hired from regions beyond the Euphrates River( that is, with the king of Assyria), the head and the hair of the legs; and it will also remove the beard.Now on that day a person may keep alive only a heifer and a pair of sheep;and because of the abundance of the milk produced he will eat curds, for everyone who is left within the land will eat curds and honey.And it will come about on that day, that every place where there used to be a thousand vines, valued at a thousand shekels of silver, will become briars and thorns.People will come there with bows and arrows, because all the land will be briars and thorns.As for all the hills which used to be cultivated with the plow, you will not go there for fear of briars and thorns; but they will become a place for pasturing oxen and for sheep to trample.

In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath pileser the king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel beth maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he led their populations into exile to Assyria.
