This is what the Lord says:“ Just as the shepherd snatches from the lion’s mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, So will the sons of Israel living in Samaria be snatched away— With the corner of a bed and the cover of a couch!

耶和华如此说：“牧人怎样从狮子口中抢回两条羊腿或半个耳朵，住撒玛利亚的以色列人躺卧在床角上或铺绣花毯的榻上，他们得救也不过如此。”

耶和華又曰、譬彼牧童、脫羊二足一耳、出於獅口、以色列族居撒馬利亞及大馬色、若偃卧於床隅、必蒙救援亦若是、

This is what the Lord says:“ As a shepherd rescues from the lion’s mouth only two leg bones or a piece of an ear, so will the Israelites living in Samaria be rescued, with only the head of a bed and a piece of fabric from a couch.”

The Lord says,“ Suppose a shepherd saves only two leg bones from a lion’s mouth. Or he might save only a piece of an ear. That is how the Israelites living in Samaria will be saved. They will only have a board from a bed and a piece of cloth from a couch.”

Thus says the Lord:“ As the shepherd rescues from the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the people of Israel who dwell in Samaria be rescued, with the corner of a couch and part of a bed.

This is what the Lord says:“ A shepherd who tries to rescue a sheep from a lion’s mouth will recover only two legs or a piece of an ear. So it will be for the Israelites in Samaria lying on luxurious beds, and for the people of Damascus reclining on couches.

The LORD says: As the shepherd snatches two legs or a piece of an ear from the lion’s mouth, so the Israelites who live in Samaria will be rescued with only the corner of a bed or the cushion of a couch.

Thus says the Lord:“ As a shepherd takes from the mouth of a lion Two legs or a piece of an ear, So shall the children of Israel be taken out Who dwell in Samaria— In the corner of a bed and on the edge of a couch!

Thus saith Jehovah: As the shepherd rescueth out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be rescued that sit in Samaria in the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed.

The Lord says: As the shepherd snatches two legs or a piece of an ear from the lion’s mouth, so the Israelites who live in Samaria will be rescued with only the corner of a bed or the cushion of a couch.

Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus[ in] a couch.

This is what the LORD says:“ Just as a shepherd salvages from the lion’s mouth a couple of leg bones or a piece of an ear, so the Israelites who live in Samaria will be salvaged. They will be left with just a corner of a bed, and a part of a couch.”

Yahweh says:“ As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be rescued who sit in Samaria on the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed.”

Those who lie on beds of ivory, And lounge around on their couches, And eat lambs from the flock, And calves from the midst of the fattened cattle,

But David said to Saul,“ Your servant was tending his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and took a sheep from the flock,I went out after it and attacked it, and rescued the sheep from its mouth; and when it rose up against me, I grabbed it by its mane and struck it and killed it.Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he has defied the armies of the living God.”And David said,“ The Lord who saved me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear, He will save me from the hand of this Philistine.” So Saul said to David,“ Go, and may the Lord be with you.”

for before the boy knows how to cry out‘ My father’ or‘ My mother,’ the wealth of Damascus and the spoils of Samaria will be carried away before the king of Assyria.”

For this is what the Lord says to me:“ As the lion or the young lion growls over his prey, Against which a band of shepherds is called out, And he will not be terrified at their voice nor disturbed at their noise, So will the Lord of armies come down to wage war on Mount Zion and on its hill.”

But what is the divine response to him?“ I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice.

And Micaiah said,“ Behold, you are going to see how on that day when you go from one inner room to another trying to hide yourself.”

And Ben hadad said to him,“ The cities which my father took from your father I will restore, and you can make streets for yourself in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria.” Ahab said,“ And I will let you go with this covenant.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.

Though they dig into Sheol, From there My hand will take them; And though they ascend to heaven, From there I will bring them down.And though they hide on the summit of Carmel, I will track them down and take them from there; And though they hide themselves from My sight on the bottom of the sea, I will command the serpent from there, and it will bite them.

So the king of Assyria listened to him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus and captured it, and led the people of it into exile to Kir, and put Rezin to death.

The pronouncement concerning Damascus:“ Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city And will become a fallen ruin.The cities of Aroer are abandoned; They will be for herds to lie down in, And there will be no one to frighten them.The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim, And sovereignty from Damascus And the remnant of Aram; They will be like the glory of the sons of Israel,” Declares the Lord of armies.Now on that day the glory of Jacob will fade, And the fatness of his flesh will become lean.

But the rest fled to Aphek into the city, and the wall fell on twenty seven thousand men who were left. And Ben hadad fled and came into the city, going from one inner room to another.
