“ Then they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.

“ Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.

For this reason I also suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to protect what I have entrusted to Him until that day.

Remember the word that I said to you,‘ A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they followed My word, they will follow yours also.

If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, and of God, rests upon you.

but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in difficulties,

“ These things I have spoken to you so that you will not be led into sin.They will ban you from the synagogue, yet an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering a service to God.These things they will do because they have not known the Father nor Me.But these things I have spoken to you, so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you of them. However, I did not say these things to you at the beginning, because I was with you.

And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that chains and afflictions await me.

Woe to you, destroyer, While you were not destroyed; And he who is treacherous, while others did not deal treacherously with him. As soon as you finish destroying, you will be destroyed; As soon as you cease to deal treacherously, others will deal treacherously with you.

For I think, God has exhibited us, the apostles, last of all as men condemned to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to mankind.We are fools on account of Christ, but you are prudent in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are without honor!Up to this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed and roughly treated and homeless;and we labor, working with our own hands; when we are verbally abused, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;when we are slandered, we reply as friends; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.

and here he has authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”

for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned.For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.

If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they insult the members of his household!
