天主又予之以割禮之約；故亞伯漢既生意灑格、第八日即為之行割禮；意灑格之於雅各伯、雅各伯之於十二族祖、亦復如是。

Then he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. And Abraham became the father of Isaac and circumcised him eight days after his birth. Later Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.

Then God made a covenant with Abraham. God told him that circumcision would show who the members of the covenant were. Abraham became Isaac’s father. He circumcised Isaac eight days after he was born. Later, Isaac became Jacob’s father. Jacob had 12 sons. They became the founders of the 12 tribes of Israel.

And he gave him the covenant of circumcision. And so Abraham became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day, and Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs.

“ God also gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision at that time. So when Abraham became the father of Isaac, he circumcised him on the eighth day. And the practice was continued when Isaac became the father of Jacob, and when Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs of the Israelite nation.

And so he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. After this, he fathered Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day. Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.

And He gave him the covenant of circumcision; and so Abraham fathered Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac fathered Jacob, and Jacob, the twelve patriarchs.

And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so[ Abraham] begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac[ begat] Jacob; and Jacob[ begat] the twelve patriarchs.

Then God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision, and so he became the father of Isaac and circumcised him when he was eight days old, and Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs.

又曰、爾及後裔、必守我約、歷代勿替、爾中男子、咸宜受割禮、即我賜爾及爾後裔所必守之約。故爾陽之皮必受割、以徵我賜爾之約。爾歷代男子、或生於爾家、或鬻自異邦、非爾苗裔、既生八日、皆必受割。家所生者、金所鬻者、俱必受割、如是、我約必加於爾身、以為永約。但不受割者、則背我約、必絕之於民中。○

雅各有十二子、流便、西面、利未、猶大、以薩迦、西布倫、利亞所出。約瑟、便雅憫、拉結所出。但納大利、拉結婢辟拉所出。伽得亞設、利亞婢悉帕所出、是皆雅各於巴坦亞蘭所生。○

由伯特利徙、去以法大無幾、拉結臨產艱危。

兄弟乎、容我明言、先祖大闢、死而葬、至今境內、其墓猶存、

其所許之言云、屆期吾至、撒拉氏必生子、不第此、利百加氏、從我祖以撒而懷孕、子未生善惡未形、而上帝選人之旨不移、其選之也、非由所行、乃由所召、諭利百加氏曰、長子必服幼子、如經云、吾愛雅各、不愛以掃、

耶和華知利亞不見寵、故賜生育、惟拉結不妊。利亞懷妊生子、命名流便、曰、耶和華俯念我苦、今而後、夫必愛我。再妊生子、命名西面、曰、耶和華聞我不見寵、復賜我此子。又妊生子、命名利未、曰、今生三子、夫必膠膝於我。又妊生子、命名猶大、曰、我今必頌美耶和華、嗣後利亞久不妊。拉結見己不育、則妒厥姊、謂雅各曰、賜我生子、不然我死矣。雅各怒曰、使爾不育者、在上帝、豈在我乎。曰、我婢辟拉可與同室、彼生之、我撫之、我因以得子。遂以婢辟拉予夫同室。辟拉懷妊生子。拉結命名但、曰、上帝祐我、聽我祈、賜我一子、辟拉再妊生子、拉結命名納大利、曰、我與姊力爭得利。利亞久不妊、以婢悉帕與夫同室。悉帕生子、利亞命名伽得、曰、幸甚。悉帕再生子、利亞命名亞設、曰、我蒙福祉、群女將謂我有福。○麥秋至、流便往於田、獲風茄、奉母利亞、拉結謂利亞曰、請以爾子之風茄與我。曰、爾奪我寵、豈微故耶、今欲奪我子之風茄乎。拉結曰、為汝子之風茄、是夜可與夫偕寢。暮雅各自田歸、利亞出迓之、曰、爾與我偕入室、我舍我子之風茄、以得爾、故是夜與之同室、上帝俯念利亞、賜之懷妊、生五子、利亞命名以薩迦、曰、昔以婢與夫、今蒙上帝給我值。利亞復妊生六子、命名西布倫、曰、上帝賜我嘉賚、我生六子、夫必偕我。後生女、命名底拿、○上帝眷念拉結、俯聽其祈、使之誕育、懷妊生子、曰、上帝已洒我恥矣。乃命名約瑟、曰、耶和華必復賜子。

耶和華眷顧撒拉、踐其前言、應其所許。故亞伯拉罕年雖耄耋、而撒拉懷妊、屆上帝所言之期、誕生男子。亞伯拉罕、以撒拉所生子、命名以撒、越八日、遵上帝命、行割禮。

以撒生以掃、以色列。

以撒之妻不妊、故以撒為之祈耶和華、耶和華許之、而利百加懷妊。胎孕震動、若相爭然、利百加曰、如此、將如之何、問於耶和華。耶和華曰、胎所懷者、有二民焉、其後所出、成為二國、此必強於彼、長將事其幼。○屆期孿生、初產者紅、遍體生毛如裘、命名以掃。後出者手執兄踵、命名雅各、二子生時、以撒年已六旬。

曰、然則何日得稱義耶、受割之後歟、抑受割之先歟、非後也、乃先也、

兄弟乎、吾試因人所言言之、人之盟約既定、則無得而增損之、

亞伯拉罕生以撒、以撒生雅各、雅各生猶大兄弟、

爾試思之、先祖亞伯拉罕、取戰時所獲者十分之一、輸麥基洗德、則其尊為何若、

氣將絕時、拉結名其子曰便阿尼而死。父命名便雅憫。

摩西授爾割禮、然割禮非由摩西、乃由列祖、故爾於安息日行割禮、

以色列族、與眷聚、偕雅各至埃及、其名備載如左。流便、西面、利未、猶大、以薩迦、西布倫、便雅憫、但、納大利、伽得、亞設、

以色列子流便、西面、利未、猶大、以薩迦、西布倫、但、約瑟、便雅憫、納大利、伽得、亞設。

我亦云、昔上帝、既緣基督預立盟約、則非四百三十年後之律法所能廢、使應許無有、
