神就转身不顾，任凭他们去事奉天上的万象，正如先知书上所记载的：‘以色列家呀！你们在旷野的四十年里献上的牺牲和祭物，难道是给我的吗？

神就轉臉不顧，任憑他們事奉天上的日月星辰，正如先知書上所寫的說：以色列家啊，你們四十年間在曠野，豈是將犧牲和祭物獻給我嗎？

於是、上帝弗恤、聽其奉事天上列宿、先知書有云、以色列族乎、爾於曠野四十年、非以犧牲祭物獻我歟、

於是天主離之、聽其奉事天上群星、如先知書所載云、以色列族乎、爾於曠野歷四十年、獻犧牲祭物、豈獻於我乎、

天主乃棄置之、任彼奉事天上之日月星辰、此正如先知書所記曰：嗚呼義塞之家室、率彼曠野四十春。何曾貢我以祭品、何曾獻我以犧牲。

Then God turned away from them and abandoned them to serve the stars of heaven as their gods! In the book of the prophets it is written,‘ Was it to me you were bringing sacrifices and offerings during those forty years in the wilderness, Israel?

耶路撒冷的房屋和犹大君王的宫殿将被玷污，像陀斐特一样，因为他们在房顶向天上的万象烧香，向别的神明奠酒。’”

因此，上帝任凭他们随从内心的情欲行污秽的事，玷污彼此的身体。他们把上帝的真理当作谎言，祭拜、供奉受造之物，却不敬拜、事奉造物主。主是永远值得称颂的。阿们！因此，上帝任凭他们放纵可耻的情欲。女人放弃正常的两性关系，做出变态反常的事。男人也背弃了和女人正常的两性关系，欲火焚烧，同性之间彼此贪恋，男人和男人做出羞耻不堪的事。他们必在自己的身体上遭受应得的报应。既然他们故意不认识上帝，上帝就任凭他们心思败坏，做不当做的事。

我的子民却不肯听我的话，以色列不愿意顺从我。因此我就任凭他们顽固不化，为所欲为。

他们却叛逆，使祂的圣灵忧伤。于是，祂与他们为敌，亲自攻击他们。

如果你们背弃耶和华，去拜外族的神明，尽管祂曾经恩待你们，也必降祸给你们，毁灭你们。”

以法莲与偶像为伍，任由他吧！

当你们举目观看你们的上帝耶和华赐给天下万民的日、月、星辰等天上万象时，不要受诱惑去跪拜、供奉它们。

我必重重地惩罚他们，使他们遭遇自己害怕的事。因为我呼唤，无人回应；我讲话，无人聆听。他们做我视为恶的事，专行令我不悦的事。”

他重建他父亲希西迦拆毁的丘坛，效法以色列王亚哈为巴力筑造祭坛，制造亚舍拉神像，并且祭拜和供奉天上的万象。

我若见太阳发光，明月在天上移动，就暗自心生迷恋，向它们吻手示敬，就是犯了当受审判的罪恶，因为这等于我背弃了天上的上帝。

他们把他们的上帝耶和华的诫命抛诸脑后，铸造了两个金牛犊，还造了亚舍拉神像。他们祭拜巴力和天上的万象，

圣经上说：“你们今日若听见祂的声音，不可像从前那样硬着心悖逆祂。”听见祂的声音却又悖逆祂的是谁呢？不就是摩西从埃及领出来的那些人吗？四十年之久惹上帝发怒的是谁呢？不就是那些犯罪作恶并倒毙在旷野的人吗？

所以，我憎恶他们四十年之久，我说，‘他们偏离正路，不遵行我的命令。’

当时，你们的祖先试我、探我，观看我的作为达四十年之久。

因为以色列人或是在以色列定居的外族人若背弃我，在心中树立偶像，把导致犯罪的绊脚石放在自己面前，又来向先知求问我的旨意，我耶和华必亲自用惩罚回答他。我必严惩他，使他成为众人的鉴戒和笑柄。我必将他从我的子民中铲除。这样，你们就知道我是耶和华。如果先知受迷惑说预言，那是我耶和华任他胡作非为，我必伸手惩治他，把他从我的以色列百姓中除灭。他们必担当自己的罪过——假先知与求问的人要担当同样的罪过。

不遵守祂的禁令，去供奉和祭拜其他神明，祭拜日、月或星辰，

所以，我任由他们效法无用的律例，遵守无法使人活着的规条，

祂带我来到耶和华殿的内院，在殿门口，走廊和祭坛中间约有二十五个人背向耶和华的殿，面向东方朝拜太阳。

摩西带领以色列人出埃及，过红海，越旷野，四十年间行了许多神迹奇事。

你没有带来作燔祭的羊，也没有用祭物来尊崇我。我没有让你因祭物而受累，也没有让你因香料而烦扰。

用尽各样诡计欺骗那些将要灭亡的人，因为他们不喜欢接受那能拯救他们的真理。上帝就让他们是非不辨，去相信那些虚假的谎言，使一切不相信真理、反喜爱不义的人都被定罪。
