此固司祭長與諸父老能為予作證者也。予且曾領彼等致眾兄弟之書、往大馬士革、欲將彼處奉此道者、縛解耶路撒冷處刑；

彼非謗讟爾所奉為神聖之美名者乎？

爾當戒慎、爾將因予之故、被人執交公會、撻於會堂、解至王侯之前、以證吾道。

時掃羅氣燄逼人、必欲誅滅主之門徒。乃謁大司祭、

法利塞人憤怒填膺、共謀所以處耶穌。

因自反曰：「父家多少傭工、皆得飽食而有餘、而吾將為他鄉之餓殍矣、

因過見懲、曾有驢作人聲斥責先知之狂妄焉。

猶太人拒而誚之；葆樂拂衣曰：『爾罪自承、予也何咎！自此吾適異邦矣！』

葆樂聲辯至此、非斯都大聲曰：『葆樂、汝狂矣！讀書太多、轉使汝狂！』葆樂曰：尊臺非斯都、予實不狂、予所言者、真實無妄；

唯此事之先、人必為予名之故、將爾拘捕、加爾迫辱、解爾於會堂、幽爾於囹圄、曳爾至王侯公卿之前；

昔人干犯摩西律法、根據二三人之證言、尚且殺之無貸；何況蹂躪天主聖子、輕慢聖德所本之盟血、褻瀆恩寵所自之聖神、爾謂其所當受之刑罰、更堪設想乎！
