After the Passover ended, we boarded a ship at Philippi in Macedonia and five days later joined them in Troas, where we stayed a week.On the first day of the week, we gathered with the local believers to share in the Lord’s Supper. Paul was preaching to them, and since he was leaving the next day, he kept talking until midnight.

Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners,“ Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”

Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more.

That very night the believers sent Paul and Silas to Berea. When they arrived there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.

From there we reached Philippi, a major city of that district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. And we stayed there several days.

So you can see we were not preaching with any deceit or impure motives or trickery.

Then they all went back upstairs, shared in the Lord’s Supper, and ate together. Paul continued talking to them until dawn, and then he left.

Paul and Silas then traveled through the towns of Amphipolis and Apollonia and came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue.
