But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.

求行文大馬士革各會堂、遇有此道中人、不論男女、盡縛解耶路撒冷。

其時、為斯道故、掀起軒然大波。

時邑民分岐、有黨猶太人者、有附宗徒者。

猶太人見而嫉之、詰難葆樂、謗讟天主、葆樂、巴拿巴坦然答曰：『天主之道、本當先傳於爾；爾既棄之、而自絕於永生之道、吾乃轉傳於異邦。

猶太人拒而誚之；葆樂拂衣曰：『爾罪自承、予也何咎！自此吾適異邦矣！』遂離之。提篤、儒斯多崇奉天主、宅旁會堂；葆樂登門訪之。司會基立司布舉家信主、格林多人聞之信而受洗者亦眾。

爾等頑固強項、何曾心領割禮、而信奉教義。居常拂逆聖神、與爾列祖行同一轍。

顧語眾曰：『爾手刃持梃、捕予一如捕盜。予曩者日坐殿中施訓於爾、何不執之？

是宜恆懷警惕、念我三年來不舍晝夜含淚訓爾之情。

葆樂欲衝入人叢、信徒止之。

有之、其惟予當眾揚言：「今之被審、乃為死人復活之端」歟！』

聞而信者、自附於葆樂、西拉、虔敬之希臘人歸依者甚眾、貴婦亦復不少；

『主已蒙其目、主已頑其心、恐其目有見、恐其心有靈、恐其即回頭、令吾全其生。』

努力傳道、處順毋弛、處逆毋餒。務須一秉堅忍不拔之耐德、及真實無妄之教理、以規人之過、懲人之惡、而勗人之善也。

以邪惡不淑之世而求靈徵、除若納之靈徵外、更無靈徵可賜。』遂離之去。

然則如何？曰：義塞之所求、未之得也、其中蒙恩者得之、而其餘則已成麻木不仁之徒矣。

亞細亞諸教友之背我、爾所知也。就中尤以費者路與赫爾毛為甚。

爾意予之來、為授世以和平乎？非也！將予以分化耳。今而後、五口之家、將裂為二、三攻二、二攻三、分化所至、必有父攻其子、子攻其父、母攻其女、女攻其母、姑攻其媳、媳攻其姑者矣。』

若輩宵小之徒、竟敢大放厥辭、肆其謗毀。若而人者、實同不具理性之畜類、專為被宰而生者；對於己所不知之事、信口訕謗、害人適以自害、

亟宜日相淬勵、乘今日未盡、發憤自新、庶幾爾中無有一人因罪惡之迷溺、而鐵石其心。

而此輩則不然；凡彼所不知之事、未悟之理、則大加慢罵、肆無忌憚；而彼所知者、惟五官之事、沉溺其中、至死不悟、其亦何異於禽獸乎。

毋閉爾心。炯戒不遠。在爾先人。

蓋矜恤人者惟天主、使人冥頑、亦惟天主而已。

喪心病狂、天理泯滅、甚且以宗教為貿利之途。

既得之、攜之安提阿、與會眾相聚者、達一年之久、訓迪多人、門徒之被稱為「基督信徒」者、自安提阿始。

若輩盲者之盲導也；夫以盲導盲、有不相將入坑者乎？』

對此「新道、」予亦曾加以凌迫、無所不用其極、逮捕信男信女、下之於獄。

但吾儕願一聆教言、以吾所聞今之新教、固無在而不受非議也。』

外飾虔誠之貌內實麻木不仁。此類之人、務望吾兒避之若浼。

且必有多人與之推波助瀾、同流合污、以致真諦妙道、因斯輩之故、為世詬病。
