故我為蒙選者忍受諸難、使彼亦因基督耶穌得救、並得永存之榮、

予之忍受一切、實為選民之故、欲使其恃基督耶穌以邀天恩、而承無疆之休。

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

So I put up with everything for the good of God’s chosen people. Then they also can be saved. Christ Jesus saves them. He gives them glory that will last forever.

今我緣爾受苦、反以為喜、且為基督之身、即教會、在我身補基督未受盡之患難、

施恩之天主、曾因耶穌基督召我儕享其永榮、願彼在爾暫受苦之後、成全爾、堅固爾、使爾力強、且得立穩有基、

今我所受暫而且微之苦、為我備至大無比之永榮、

我或受苦、乃為爾得慰得救、使爾能忍我儕同受之苦、我或得慰、亦為爾得慰得救、

爾當忍苦、如耶穌基督之勁卒、

蓋天主非預定我儕遭怒、乃預定我儕賴主耶穌基督而得救、

是以我求爾、勿因我為爾受患難而怯、此實爾之榮也、○

我昔為毀謗者、窘逐者、侮慢者、但此因在不信之時、無知而作、故猶蒙矜恤、我主之恩寵愈增、俾我從基督耶穌、信之愛之、

我為彼祈、非為世祈、乃為爾所賜我之人祈、以其屬爾也、

又將其榮之富有、顯示於蒙矜恤所預定以得榮之器、

父歟、爾所賜我之人、願彼與我偕處、使彼見爾所賜我之榮、因創世之先、爾已愛我矣、

萬事皆為爾曹、使眾因受多恩、亦多感謝、歸榮於天主、

遣其使者吹角、角聲甚大、集其選民於四方、自天此極至彼極、○

爾素非為民、今為天主之民、昔未蒙憐恤、今已蒙憐恤、○

凡恆於行善、求尊榮及無壞者、則報以永生、

此奧妙傳於異邦人中、蓋天主欲使聖徒知此奧妙之大榮此奧妙之大榮原文作此奧妙之榮之豐富何如、此奧妙即基督在爾中、使爾賴之可望得榮、

且不第為斯民、又為使天主散處之子、咸集於一、

為此天主亦以我所傳之福音召爾、欲爾得我主耶穌基督之榮、

因將有偽基督偽先知起、施大異跡、大奇事、若能惑選民則亦惑之、

於荏弱者我如荏弱、以得荏弱者、我於眾人如眾人、為欲以多方拯救數人、

若不稍減其日、則無一人得救、但為蒙選者、其日必減、

得我者得生命、並蒙主之恩寵、
