“ And where is Mephibosheth, Saul’s grandson?” the king asked him.“ He stayed in Jerusalem,” Ziba replied.“ He said,‘ Today I will get back the kingdom of my grandfather Saul.’”

王问说：“你主人的儿子在哪里呢？”洗巴回答王说：“他仍在耶路撒冷，因他说：‘以色列人今日必将我父的国归还我。’”

王说：“你主人的儿子在哪里呢？”洗巴对王说：“看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因他说：‘以色列家今日必将我父的国归还我。’”

王说：“你主人的儿子在哪里呢？”洗巴对王说：“看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因他说：‘以色列家今日必将我父的国归还我。’”

王又问他：“你主人的孙子米非波设在哪里？”洗巴说：“他在耶路撒冷，因为他相信现在以色列人会把他祖父的国归还给他。”

王又问：“你主人的孙子米非波设在哪里？”洗巴回答王说：“唉！他还留在耶路撒冷，因为他心里想：‘今日以色列家会把我祖父扫罗的王国归还给我。’”

王問說：「你主人的兒子在哪裏呢？」洗巴回答王說：「他仍在耶路撒冷，因他說：『以色列人今日必將我父的國歸還我。』」

王說：「你主人的兒子在哪裏呢？」洗巴對王說：「看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因他說：『以色列家今日必將我父的國歸還我。』」

王說：「你主人的兒子在哪裏呢？」洗巴對王說：「看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因他說：『以色列家今日必將我父的國歸還我。』」

王又問他：「你主人的孫子米非波設在哪裡？」洗巴說：「他在耶路撒冷，因為他相信現在以色列人會把他祖父的國歸還給他。」

王又問：“你主人的孫子米非波設在哪裡？”洗巴回答王說：“唉！他還留在耶路撒冷，因為他心裡想：‘今日以色列家會把我祖父掃羅的王國歸還給我。’”

王問說：『你主人的兒子在哪裏？』洗巴對王說：『你看，他還在耶路撒冷；因為他心裏說：「以色列家今日必將我父的國歸還給我。」』

王問：「你主人的兒子在哪裡？」洗巴回答王：「看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因為他說：『今天以色列家必將我父的王權歸還我。』」

王曰、爾主之子安在、曰、在耶路撒冷、蓋曰、今日以色列家、必以父之國反我、

王曰、爾主之孫何在。曰、在耶路撒冷、彼曰、今日以色列族、必以祖之國祚、仍歸乎我。

王曰、爾主人子安在、洗巴對王曰、今居耶路撒冷、彼曰、今日以色列人、必以我父之國反我、

The king then asked,“ Where is your master’s grandson?” Ziba said to him,“ He is staying in Jerusalem, because he thinks,‘ Today the Israelites will restore to me my grandfather’s kingdom.’”

Then the king asked,“ Where is your master’s grandson Mephibosheth?” Ziba said to him,“ He’s staying in Jerusalem. He thinks,‘ Today the Israelites will cause me to rule once again over my grandfather Saul’s kingdom.’ ”

And the king said,“ And where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king,“ Behold, he remains in Jerusalem, for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will give me back the kingdom of my father.’”

“ Where is your master’s grandson?” the king asked.“ Why, he’s staying in Jerusalem,” Ziba replied to the king,“ for he said,‘ Today, the house of Israel will restore my grandfather’s kingdom to me.’”

Then the king said,“ And where is your master’s son?” And Ziba said to the king,“ Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem, for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will restore the kingdom of my father to me.’ ”

Then the king said,“ And where is your master’s son?” And Ziba said to the king,“ Indeed he is staying in Jerusalem, for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will restore the kingdom of my father to me.’”

And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem; for he said, To- day will the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.

“ Where is your master’s grandson?” the king asked.“ Why, he’s staying in Jerusalem,” Ziba replied to the king,“ for he said,‘ Today, the house of Israel will restore my grandfather’s kingdom to me.’”

And the king said, And where[ is] thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.

The king asked,“ Where is your master’s grandson?” Ziba replied to the king,“ He remains in Jerusalem, for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will give back to me my grandfather’s kingdom.’”

The king said,“ Where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king,“ Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem; for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will restore me the kingdom of my father.’”

Then the king summoned Saul’s servant Ziba and said,“ I have given your master’s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family.You and your sons and servants are to farm the land for him to produce food for your master’s household. But Mephibosheth, your master’s grandson, will eat here at my table.”( Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.)

You have taken away my companions and loved ones. Darkness is my closest friend.

I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.

Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends.

“ You must not testify falsely against your neighbor.

The judges must investigate the case thoroughly. If the accuser has brought false charges against his fellow Israelite,you must impose on the accuser the sentence he intended for the other person. In this way, you will purge such evil from among you.

A false witness will be cut off, but a credible witness will be allowed to speak.

What sorrow awaits them! For they follow in the footsteps of Cain, who killed his brother. Like Balaam, they deceive people for money. And like Korah, they perish in their rebellion.

But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

Now Mephibosheth, Saul’s grandson, came down from Jerusalem to meet the king. He had not cared for his feet, trimmed his beard, or washed his clothes since the day the king left Jerusalem.“ Why didn’t you come with me, Mephibosheth?” the king asked him.Mephibosheth replied,“ My lord the king, my servant Ziba deceived me. I told him,‘ Saddle my donkey so I can go with the king.’ For as you know I am crippled.Ziba has slandered me by saying that I refused to come. But I know that my lord the king is like an angel of God, so do what you think is best.All my relatives and I could expect only death from you, my lord, but instead you have honored me by allowing me to eat at your own table! What more can I ask?”“ You’ve said enough,” David replied.“ I’ve decided that you and Ziba will divide your land equally between you.”“ Give him all of it,” Mephibosheth said.“ I am content just to have you safely back again, my lord the king!”

Such is the fate of all who are greedy for money; it robs them of life.

Don’t trust anyone— not your best friend or even your wife!
