“ What are these for?” the king asked Ziba. Ziba replied,“ The donkeys are for the king’s people to ride on, and the bread and summer fruit are for the young men to eat. The wine is for those who become exhausted in the wilderness.”

王问洗巴：“你为什么带这些东西来？”洗巴回答：“驴子是给王的家眷骑的，饼和夏天的果饼是给年轻人吃的，酒是给在旷野里疲乏的人喝的。”

王問洗巴說：「你帶這些來是甚麼意思呢？」洗巴說：「驢是給王的家眷騎的；麵餅和夏天的果餅是給少年人吃的；酒是給在曠野疲乏人喝的。」

王問洗巴說：『你這些東西甚麼意思？洗巴說：『驢是給王的家眷騎的；餅和夏天果品是給青年人喫的；酒是給在曠野疲乏的人喝的。』

王問洗巴：「你帶這些是為了什麼？」洗巴回答：「驢子是給王的家人騎的，餅和夏天的果實是給年輕人吃的，酒是給在曠野裡疲乏的人喝的。」

王曰、汝攜此何意、洗巴曰、驢為王眷聚所乘、餅及夏果為少者所食、酒為曠野困憊者所飲、

王曰、汝攜此何意。西巴曰、驢為王眷聚所乘、餅及無花果供給少者、所有之酒以飲行野困憊者。

王謂洗巴曰、爾攜此何意、洗巴曰、驢予王之眷屬乘之、餅及乾果予少者食之、酒予行曠野疲憊者飲之、

The king asked Ziba,“ Why have you brought these?” Ziba answered,“ The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on, the bread and fruit are for the men to eat, and the wine is to refresh those who become exhausted in the wilderness.”

The king asked Ziba,“ Why have you brought all these things?” Ziba answered,“ The donkeys are for the king’s family to ride on. The bread and fruit are for the people to eat. The wine will make those who get tired in the desert feel like new again.”

And the king said to Ziba,“ Why have you brought these?” Ziba answered,“ The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on, the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat, and the wine for those who faint in the wilderness to drink.”

The king said to Ziba,“ Why do you have these?” Ziba answered,“ The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride, the bread and summer fruit are for the young men to eat, and the wine is for those to drink who become exhausted in the wilderness.”

And the king said to Ziba,“ Why do you have these?” And Ziba said,“ The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride, the bread and summer fruit are for the young men to eat, and the wine, for whoever is weary in the wilderness to drink.”

And the king said to Ziba,“ What do you mean to do with these?” So Ziba said,“ The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on, the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat, and the wine for those who are faint in the wilderness to drink.”

And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as are faint in the wilderness may drink.

The king asked Ziba,“ Why did you bring these things?” Ziba replied,“ The donkeys are for the king’s family to ride on, the loaves of bread and the summer fruit are for the attendants to eat, and the wine is for those who get exhausted in the desert.”

The king said to Ziba,“ What do you mean by these?” Ziba said,“ The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that those who are faint in the wilderness may drink.”

honey, butter, sheep, goats, and cheese for David and those who were with him. For they said,“ You must all be very hungry and tired and thirsty after your long march through the wilderness.”

His thirty sons rode around on thirty donkeys, and they owned thirty towns in the land of Gilead, which are still called the Towns of Jair.

“ Consider this, you who ride on fine donkeys, you who sit on fancy saddle blankets, and you who walk along the road.

Alcohol is for the dying, and wine for those in bitter distress.Let them drink to forget their poverty and remember their troubles no more.

When your people ask you what your actions mean,

And here is a present that I, your servant, have brought to you and your young men.

Mephibosheth replied,“ My lord the king, my servant Ziba deceived me. I told him,‘ Saddle my donkey so I can go with the king.’ For as you know I am crippled.

After this, Absalom bought a chariot and horses, and he hired fifty bodyguards to run ahead of him.

“ And what were all the flocks and herds I met as I came?” Esau asked. Jacob replied,“ They are a gift, my lord, to ensure your friendship.”

Abimelech asked,“ Why have you set these seven apart from the others?”

Gideon then crossed the Jordan River with his 300 men, and though exhausted, they continued to chase the enemy.When they reached Succoth, Gideon asked the leaders of the town,“ Please give my warriors some food. They are very tired. I am chasing Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.”

Everyone cried loudly as the king and his followers passed by. They crossed the Kidron Valley and then went out toward the wilderness.

But one of the men saw him and said,“ Your father made the army take a strict oath that anyone who eats food today will be cursed. That is why everyone is weary and faint.”
