非利士人攻打以色列人；以色列人從非利士人面前逃跑，在基利波山有被刺死倒斃的。

他們擺設筵席，鋪着氈毯，又喫又喝。將領們、起來哦！用油抹盾牌哦！

撒母耳拿了一瓶膏油澆在掃羅頭上，和他親嘴，說：「這不是永恆主膏立你做管理他民的人君麼？你必管束永恆主的人民；必拯救他們脫離四圍仇敵的手。永恆主膏立了你做管理他產業的人君；這要給你做記號。

我要使它荒廢，不再修整，不再鋤刨，蒺藜荊棘倒要長起來；我也要吩咐雲彩、別降雨在園子上。

或者他能回轉、改變心意，留下餘剩的祝福，留下獻素祭奠祭給永恆主你們的上帝的機會、也未可知。

素祭奠祭都從永恆主殿中斷絕了；伺候永恆主的祭司都悲哀着。

非利士人攻打以色列；以色列人各從非利士人面前逃跑，在基利波山有被刺死倒斃的。

第二天非利士人來剝被刺死者的衣物，看見掃羅和他的兒子都倒斃在基利波山上，

『願我生的那日滅沒，願說懷了男胎的那夜消失。願那日變為黑暗！願上帝不從上面探尋它；願亮光不照射於其上。願黑暗漆黑佔領它；願密雲停於其上；願那日的暗翳威嚇它。那夜呢、——願墨黑奪取了它！不讓它連在年中的日子；不讓它入於月中的數目。唉，願那夜沒有孕育；也沒有歡樂聲進入其間。願那咒詛白晝的咒詛黑夜；願熟練於喚醒大鱷魚的、咒罵黑夜。願那夜黎明之星宿變為黑暗；盼亮卻不亮，也不見晨曦之破曉。因為它沒有把懷我的胎門閉着，沒有對我的眼隱藏着苦難。

永恆主的使者說：『你要咒詛米羅斯；大大咒詛其居民；因為他們不來幫助永恆主，不率領勇士幫助永恆主。』

願我生的那一日受咒詛！願我母親生了我的那一天不蒙祝福！那給我父親報消息說：『有男孩給你生下來了！』使我父親歡喜快樂的，願那人受咒詛！願那人像永恆主所傾覆的城，而永恆主並不改變心意的；願他早晨聽見哀呼聲，而中午時分又聽見吶喊；

『永恆主這麼說：當它下陰間的日子，我必使深洋為它而悲哀：我限制它的江河，大水就停流；我也使利巴嫩為它而哀悼，田野的眾樹都為它而暈過去。
