if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

God judged the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. He burned them to ashes. He made them an example of what is going to happen to ungodly people.

所多馬蛾摩拉與周鄰數邑、同淫亂、荒於色、俱有常刑、爇之以火、以垂炯戒、

如羅得時、其人飲食貿易、樹蓺搆造、迨羅得出所多馬之日、天雨火硫而滅眾、人子顯日亦如是、

地口孔張、吞噬其眾、當時哥喇、與二百五十人、為火所燬、垂戒於後世。

硫磺及鹽、焚燬徧地、不得耕耘、無物產、無草萊、如所多馬、蛾摩拉、押馬、西編、為耶和華所怒、而使之傾覆者、

耶和華自天雨火硫於所多馬蛾摩拉、由是邑垣、平壤、民生、植物、無不盡滅。

此亦可為我鑒、摩西筆之於書、以警我後世、

耶和華曰、昔所多馬蛾摩拉、及其鄰邑、為我上帝所傾圮、無人居處、斯邑亦必若是。

望所多馬蛾摩拉、與平原一境、則見烟焰騰上、如出洪爐。

耶和華又曰、昔我上帝傾圮所多馬蛾摩拉、爾中數人、亦遭隕越、其餘得救、如脫於火、爾尚不歸誠於我、

故我以色列族之上帝、萬有之主耶和華、指己而誓、摩押必若所多馬、亞捫必若蛾摩拉、荊棘叢生、斥鹵遍地、恆必荒蕪、我之遺民、必虜其貨財、得其基業、

昔巴比倫富甲萬邦、為迦勒底人所尊、厥後必為上帝所敗、若所多馬蛾摩拉然。

以法蓮乎、我安忍舍爾、以色列乎、我焉肯棄爾、豈能視爾若押馬、敗爾若西編、我回厥志、慈愛之念、頓發於中、

爾姊所多馬、與其眾女、所犯之罪、即驕傲、饕餮、逸志、不恤貧乏、詡詡自誇、干我所痛疾之事、故我不得不去之。撒馬利亞人、蹈於愆尤、未及爾之半、乃爾較彼、多行不義、則撒馬利亞之過為尤細。爾責姊妹、適以取辱、蓋爾所為、較彼尤甚、彼之過較爾為輕、故爾當蒙羞抱愧。越在後日、所多馬與撒馬利亞、及其眾女、我將返其俘囚、當時亦必返爾俘囚、爾遭患難、爾姊妹見之、怨心悉平、則爾必自慙其素行。爾之姊妹、所多馬、與撒馬利亞、及其眾女、恢復故土、當時爾及眾女、亦可恢復故土。昔爾強盛之日、爾惡未彰、亞蘭人、及非利士人、暨四方眾女、猶未督責爾、凌辱爾、斯時也、爾視爾姊所多馬以為不足挂齒、

以鞫眾、責諸不虔者、為其所行背戾、亦為其狂言讟主、
