古時人欲橫流、天主亦不惜使洪水氾濫、僅有宣揚道義之諾厄及同伴七人得濟。

if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;

God did not spare the world’s ungodly people long ago. He brought the flood on them. But Noah preached about the right way to live. God kept him safe. He also saved seven others.

And God did not spare the ancient world— except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood.

及洪水汜濫、人物淪喪、

挪亞得上帝默示未來之事、信而畏之、遂造方舟、以救其眷屬、於是挪亞罪此世、信而得稱義、

如挪亞時、其人飲食、嫁娶、迨挪亞入方舟之日、洪水至而湮眾、人子之日亦然、

昔挪亞造方舟、拯八人脫於水厄、時、基督以神傳道、眾不信從、上帝姑待之、今囚於獄矣、

亞當七世孫以諾、預言偽師云、主與厥萬聖必至、以鞫眾、責諸不虔者、為其所行背戾、亦為其狂言讟主、

有如揶亞之日、人子之臨亦然、洪水之先、其人飲食、嫁娶、迨挪亞入方舟日、莫有知者、忽洪水至而湮眾、人子之臨亦然、

是爾法古昔、惡人之所行者也。不期大河忽決、而惡人與室廬悉遭淹沒。

耶和華謂挪亞曰、我鑒觀斯世、惟汝為義、爾率眷屬、以登方舟。畜中潔者、取牝牡七、不潔者、取牝牡二。飛鳥亦取雌雄七、以存其種於世。越七日、吾降霪雨、必浹四旬、晝夜不絕、凡所造之生物、盡滅於地。挪亞悉循耶和華命。當洪水淹地時、挪亞適六百歲。即與妻子及媳、俱登方舟、以避洪水。潔畜與不潔畜禽鳥以及昆蟲、悉以類至、牝牡各一、隨挪亞而登舟、以遵上帝命。七日後、洪水氾濫於天下。適挪亞六百歲、二月十七日、巨淵出其泉、穹蒼破其隙、霪雨四旬、晝夜不息。當是日、挪亞率妻及子、閃、含、雅弗、與三媳、皆登方舟。百獸、六畜、昆蟲、飛鳥、諸族、凡有血氣者、牝牡各一、遵上帝命、就挪亞登方舟、耶和華遂閉其門。○

人民繁衍於地、所育女子、其容艷麗、上帝之子見之、遂遴選焉、娶以為室。
