The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, thus confirming the words of the covenant written in this book. Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So he agreed to the terms of the covenant written down in that book. Then all the people committed themselves to the covenant as well.

And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.

The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. In this way, he confirmed all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll, and all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

Next, the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant in the LORD’s presence to follow the LORD and to keep his commands, his decrees, and his statutes with all his heart and with all his soul in order to carry out the words of this covenant that were written in this book; all the people agreed to the covenant.

耶何耶大使王和民與耶和華立約，作耶和華的民；又使王與民立約。

看見王照例站在柱旁，百夫長和吹號的人侍立在王左右，國中的眾民歡樂吹號；亞她利雅就撕裂衣服，喊叫說：「反了！反了！」

你們要順從耶和華－你們的神，敬畏他，謹守他的誡命，聽從他的話，事奉他，專靠他。

「今日，你們的首領、族長、長老、官長、以色列的男丁，你們的妻子兒女，和營中寄居的，以及為你們劈柴挑水的人，都站在耶和華－你們的神面前，

但願賜平安的神，就是那憑永約之血、使羣羊的大牧人－我主耶穌從死裏復活的神，

他們必訪問錫安，又面向這裏，說：『來吧，你們要與耶和華聯合為永遠不忘的約。』

「這是耶和華－你們神所吩咐教訓你們的誡命、律例、典章，使你們在所要過去得為業的地上遵行，

他們就立約，要盡心盡性地尋求耶和華－他們列祖的神。凡不尋求耶和華－以色列神的，無論大小、男女，必被治死。他們就大聲歡呼，吹號吹角，向耶和華起誓。

又將約書念給百姓聽。他們說：「耶和華所吩咐的，我們都必遵行。」摩西將血灑在百姓身上，說：「你看！這是立約的血，是耶和華按這一切話與你們立約的憑據。」

這是耶和華在摩押地吩咐摩西與以色列人立約的話，是在他和他們於何烈山所立的約之外。

你必憑誠實、公平、公義，指着永生的耶和華起誓；列國必因耶和華稱自己為有福，也必因他誇耀。

王站在他的地位上，在耶和華面前立約，要盡心盡性地順從耶和華，遵守他的誡命、法度、律例，成就這書上所記的約言；又使住耶路撒冷和便雅憫的人都服從這約。於是耶路撒冷的居民都遵行他們列祖之神的約。約西亞從以色列各處將一切可憎之物盡都除掉，使以色列境內的人都事奉耶和華－他們的神。約西亞在世的日子，就跟從耶和華－他們列祖的神，總不離開。

耶何耶大與眾民和王立約，都要作耶和華的民。

我勸你遵守王的命令；既指神起誓，理當如此。

摩西下山，將耶和華的命令典章都述說與百姓聽。眾百姓齊聲說：「耶和華所吩咐的，我們都必遵行。」

「以色列啊，現在耶和華－你神向你所要的是甚麼呢？只要你敬畏耶和華－你的神，遵行他的道，愛他，盡心盡性事奉他，

因這一切的事，我們立確實的約，寫在冊上。我們的首領、利未人，和祭司都簽了名。

耶和華的律法全備，能甦醒人心；耶和華的法度確定，能使愚人有智慧。耶和華的訓詞正直，能快活人的心；耶和華的命令清潔，能明亮人的眼目。耶和華的道理潔淨，存到永遠；耶和華的典章真實，全然公義－

現在當與我們的神立約，休這一切的妻，離絕她們所生的，照着我主和那因神命令戰兢之人所議定的，按律法而行。

百姓回答約書亞說：「我們必事奉耶和華－我們的神，聽從他的話。」當日，約書亞就與百姓立約，在示劍為他們立定律例典章。

「你們若留意聽從我今日所吩咐的誡命，愛耶和華－你們的神，盡心盡性事奉他，

其餘的民、祭司、利未人、守門的、歌唱的、尼提寧，和一切離絕鄰邦居民歸服神律法的，並他們的妻子、兒女，凡有知識能明白的，都隨從他們貴冑的弟兄，發咒起誓，必遵行神藉他僕人摩西所傳的律法，謹守遵行耶和華－我們主的一切誡命、典章、律例；並不將我們的女兒嫁給這地的居民，也不為我們的兒子娶他們的女兒。這地的居民若在安息日，或甚麼聖日，帶了貨物或糧食來賣給我們，我們必不買。每逢第七年必不耕種，凡欠我們債的必不追討。我們又為自己定例，每年各人捐銀一舍客勒三分之一，為我們神殿的使用，就是為陳設餅、常獻的素祭，和燔祭，安息日、月朔、節期所獻的與聖物，並以色列人的贖罪祭，以及我們神殿裏一切的費用。我們的祭司、利未人，和百姓都掣籤，看每年是哪一族按定期將獻祭的柴奉到我們神的殿裏，照着律法上所寫的，燒在耶和華－我們神的壇上。又定每年將我們地上初熟的土產和各樣樹上初熟的果子都奉到耶和華的殿裏。又照律法上所寫的，將我們頭胎的兒子和首生的牛羊都奉到我們神的殿，交給我們神殿裏供職的祭司；並將初熟之麥子所磨的麵和舉祭、各樣樹上初熟的果子、新酒與油奉給祭司，收在我們神殿的庫房裏，把我們地上所產的十分之一奉給利未人，因利未人在我們一切城邑的土產中當取十分之一。利未人取十分之一的時候，亞倫的子孫中，當有一個祭司與利未人同在。利未人也當從十分之一中取十分之一，奉到我們神殿的屋子裏，收在庫房中。以色列人和利未人要將五穀、新酒，和油為舉祭，奉到收存聖所器皿的屋子裏，就是供職的祭司、守門的、歌唱的所住的屋子。這樣，我們就不離棄我們神的殿。

摩西將以色列眾人召了來，對他們說：「以色列人哪，我今日曉諭你們的律例典章，你們要聽，可以學習，謹守遵行。耶和華－我們的神在何烈山與我們立約。這約不是與我們列祖立的，乃是與我們今日在這裏存活之人立的。

你要盡心、盡性、盡力愛耶和華－你的神。

所以主指責他的百姓說：日子將到，我要與以色列家和猶大家另立新約，不像我拉着他們祖宗的手，領他們出埃及的時候，與他們所立的約。因為他們不恆心守我的約，我也不理他們。這是主說的。主又說：那些日子以後，我與以色列家所立的約乃是這樣：我要將我的律法放在他們裏面，寫在他們心上；我要作他們的神；他們要作我的子民。他們不用各人教導自己的鄉鄰和自己的弟兄，說：你該認識主；因為他們從最小的到至大的，都必認識我。我要寬恕他們的不義，不再記念他們的罪愆。既說新約，就以前約為舊了；但那漸舊漸衰的，就必快歸無有了。

就是摩西在以色列人出埃及後所傳給他們的法度、律例、典章；

並新約的中保耶穌，以及所灑的血；這血所說的比亞伯的血所說的更美。

看見王站在殿門的柱旁，百夫長和吹號的人侍立在王左右，國民都歡樂吹號，又有歌唱的，用各樣的樂器領人歌唱讚美；亞她利雅就撕裂衣服，喊叫說：「反了！反了！」

現在我心中有意與耶和華－以色列的神立約，好使他的烈怒轉離我們。

「夫子，律法上的誡命，哪一條是最大的呢？」耶穌對他說：「你要盡心、盡性、盡意愛主－你的神。

你若忘記耶和華－你的神，隨從別神，事奉敬拜，你們必定滅亡；這是我今日警戒你們的。
