He went up to the temple of the Lord with the people of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the priests and the prophets— all the people from the least to the greatest. He read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant, which had been found in the temple of the Lord.

He went up to the Lord’ s temple. The people of Judah and Jerusalem went with him. So did the priests and prophets. All of them went, from the least important of them to the most important. The king had all the words of the Book of the Covenant read to them. The book had been found in the Lord’ s temple.

And the king went up to the house of the Lord, and with him all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem and the priests and the prophets, all the people, both small and great. And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant that had been found in the house of the Lord.

And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.

The king went up to the LORD’s temple, accompanied by all the people of Judah, all the residents of Jerusalem, the priests, and the prophets. All the people were there, from the youngest to the oldest. He read aloud all the words of the scroll of the covenant that had been discovered in the LORD’s temple.

大祭司希勒家對書記沙番說：「我在耶和華殿裏得了律法書。」希勒家將書遞給沙番，沙番就看了。

摩西吩咐他們說：「每逢七年的末一年，就在豁免年的定期住棚節的時候，以色列眾人來到耶和華－你神所選擇的地方朝見他。那時，你要在以色列眾人面前將這律法念給他們聽。要招聚他們男、女、孩子，並城裏寄居的，使他們聽，使他們學習，好敬畏耶和華－你們的神，謹守、遵行這律法的一切話，也使他們未曾曉得這律法的兒女得以聽見，學習敬畏耶和華－你們的神，在你們過約旦河要得為業之地，存活的日子，常常這樣行。」

我又看見死了的人，無論大小，都站在寶座前。案卷展開了，並且另有一卷展開，就是生命冊。死了的人都憑着這些案卷所記載的，照他們所行的受審判。

他們帶着耶和華的律法書，走遍猶大各城教訓百姓。

「將這律法書放在耶和華－你們神的約櫃旁，可以在那裏見證以色列人的不是；

大小都在那裏；奴僕脫離主人的轄制。

那日的四分之一站在自己的地方念耶和華－他們神的律法書，又四分之一認罪，敬拜耶和華－他們的神。

然而我蒙神的幫助，直到今日還站得住，對着尊貴、卑賤、老幼作見證；所講的並不外乎眾先知和摩西所說將來必成的事，

並且使門外的人，無論老少，眼都昏迷；他們摸來摸去，總尋不着房門。

這日子滿了，又為所有住書珊城的大小人民在御園的院子裏設擺筵席七日。

擄了城內的婦女和其中的大小人口，卻沒有殺一個，都帶着走了。

運到之後，耶和華的手攻擊那城，使那城的人大大驚慌，無論大小都生痔瘡。

當日，人念摩西的律法書給百姓聽，遇見書上寫着說，亞捫人和摩押人永不可入神的會；

到了七月，以色列人住在自己的城裏。那時，他們如同一人聚集在水門前的寬闊處，請文士以斯拉將耶和華藉摩西傳給以色列人的律法書帶來。七月初一日，祭司以斯拉將律法書帶到聽了能明白的男女會眾面前。在水門前的寬闊處，從清早到晌午，在眾男女、一切聽了能明白的人面前讀這律法書。眾民側耳而聽。文士以斯拉站在為這事特備的木臺上。瑪他提雅、示瑪、亞奈雅、烏利亞、希勒家，和瑪西雅站在他的右邊；毗大雅、米沙利、瑪基雅、哈順、哈拔大拿、撒迦利亞，和米書蘭站在他的左邊。以斯拉站在眾民以上，在眾民眼前展開這書。他一展開，眾民就都站起來。以斯拉稱頌耶和華至大的神；眾民都舉手應聲說：「阿們！阿們！」就低頭，面伏於地，敬拜耶和華。耶書亞、巴尼、示利比、雅憫、亞谷、沙比太、荷第雅、瑪西雅、基利他、亞撒利雅、約撒拔、哈難、毗萊雅，和利未人使百姓明白律法；百姓都站在自己的地方。他們清清楚楚地念神的律法書，講明意思，使百姓明白所念的。

凡不尋求耶和華－以色列神的，無論大小、男女，必被治死。

凡敬畏耶和華的，無論大小，主必賜福給他。

約櫃裏惟有兩塊石版，就是以色列人出埃及地後，耶和華與他們立約的時候摩西在何烈山所放的。除此以外，並無別物。
