The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the priests next in rank and the doorkeepers to remove from the temple of the Lord all the articles made for Baal and Asherah and all the starry hosts. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley and took the ashes to Bethel.

Certain things in the Lord’ s temple had been made to honor other gods. They were the god named Baal, the female god named Asherah and all the stars in the sky. The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest to remove those things. The king ordered the priests who were next in rank and the men who guarded the doors to help Hilkiah. Josiah took those things that had been in the Lord’ s temple and burned them outside Jerusalem. He burned them in the fields in the Kidron Valley. And he took the ashes to Bethel.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second order and the keepers of the threshold to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

Then the king instructed Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second rank and the Temple gatekeepers to remove from the Lord’s Temple all the articles that were used to worship Baal, Asherah, and all the powers of the heavens. The king had all these things burned outside Jerusalem on the terraces of the Kidron Valley, and he carried the ashes away to Bethel.

Then the king commanded the high priest Hilkiah and the priests of the second rank and the doorkeepers to bring out of the LORD’s sanctuary all the articles made for Baal, Asherah, and all the stars in the sky. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

Then the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the utensils that had been made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the heavenly lights; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.

The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the high-ranking priests, and the guards to bring out of the LORD’s temple all the items that were used in the worship of Baal, Asherah, and all the stars of the sky. The king burned them outside of Jerusalem in the terraces of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring out of Yahweh’s temple all the vessels that were made for Baal, for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky, and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

以色列啊，你雖然行淫，猶大卻不可犯罪。不要往吉甲去，不要上到伯‧亞文，也不要指着永生的耶和華起誓。

現在你當差遣人，招聚以色列眾人和事奉巴力的那四百五十個先知，並耶洗別所供養事奉亞舍拉的那四百個先知，使他們都上迦密山去見我。」

那時，祭司長和民間的長老聚集在大祭司稱為該亞法的院裏。

耶穌說了這話，就同門徒出去，過了汲淪溪。在那裏有一個園子，他和門徒進去了。

本地的人都放聲大哭。眾民盡都過去，王也過了汲淪溪；眾民往曠野去了。

他們將所得的牛犢預備好了，從早晨到午間，求告巴力的名說：「巴力啊，求你應允我們！」卻沒有聲音，沒有應允的。他們在所築的壇四圍踊跳。

所以，雅各的罪孽得赦免，他的罪過得除掉的果效，全在乎此：就是他叫祭壇的石頭變為打碎的灰石，以致木偶和日像不再立起。

你們偷盜，殺害，姦淫，起假誓，向巴力燒香，並隨從素不認識的別神，

他將伯特利的壇，就是叫以色列人陷在罪裏、尼八的兒子耶羅波安所築的那壇，都拆毀焚燒，打碎成灰，並焚燒了亞舍拉。

並離棄耶和華，去事奉巴力和亞斯她錄。

他就把牛犢一隻安在伯特利，一隻安在但。

以色列人哪，任你們往伯特利去犯罪，到吉甲加增罪過；每日早晨獻上你們的祭物，每三日奉上你們的十分之一。

犯了尼八的兒子耶羅波安所犯的罪；他還以為輕，又娶了西頓王謁巴力的女兒耶洗別為妻，去事奉敬拜巴力，

但我在以色列人中為自己留下七千人，是未曾向巴力屈膝的，未曾與巴力親嘴的。」

又在神殿內立雕刻的偶像。神曾對大衛和他兒子所羅門說：「我在以色列各支派中所選擇的耶路撒冷和這殿，必立我的名直到永遠。

守門的班次記在下面：可拉族亞薩的子孫中，有可利的兒子米施利米雅。米施利米雅的長子是撒迦利亞，次子是耶疊，三子是西巴第雅，四子是耶提聶，五子是以攔，六子是約哈難，七子是以利約乃。俄別‧以東的長子是示瑪雅，次子是約薩拔，三子是約亞，四子是沙甲，五子是拿坦業，六子是亞米利，七子是以薩迦，八子是毗烏利太，因為神賜福與俄別‧以東。他的兒子示瑪雅有幾個兒子，都是大能的壯士，掌管父親的家。示瑪雅的兒子是俄得尼、利法益、俄備得、以利薩巴。以利薩巴的弟兄是壯士，還有以利戶和西瑪迦。這都是俄別‧以東的子孫，他們和他們的兒子並弟兄，都是善於辦事的壯士。俄別‧以東的子孫共六十二人。米施利米雅的兒子和弟兄都是壯士，共十八人。米拉利子孫何薩有幾個兒子：長子是申利，他原不是長子，是他父親立他作長子。次子是希勒家，三子是底巴利雅，四子是撒迦利亞。何薩的兒子並弟兄共十三人。這些人都是守門的班長，與他們的弟兄一同在耶和華殿裏按班供職。他們無論大小，都按着宗族掣籤分守各門。掣籤守東門的是示利米雅；他的兒子撒迦利亞是精明的謀士，掣籤守北門。俄別‧以東守南門，他的兒子守庫房。書聘與何薩守西門，在靠近沙利基門、通着往上去的街道上，班與班相對。每日東門有六個利未人，北門有四個，南門有四個，庫房有兩個，又有兩個輪班替換。在西面街道上有四個，在遊廊上有兩個。以上是可拉子孫和米拉利子孫守門的班次。

離棄耶和華－他們神的一切誡命，為自己鑄了兩個牛犢的像，立了亞舍拉，敬拜天上的萬象，事奉巴力，

「你去見大祭司希勒家，使他將奉到耶和華殿的銀子，就是守門的從民中收聚的銀子，數算數算，

以利亞對他們說：「拿住巴力的先知，不容一人逃脫！」眾人就拿住他們。以利亞帶他們到基順河邊，在那裏殺了他們。

護衛長拿住大祭司西萊雅、副祭司西番亞，和三個把門的，

他作王第八年，尚且年幼，就尋求他祖大衛的神。到了十二年才潔淨猶大和耶路撒冷，除掉邱壇、木偶、雕刻的像，和鑄造的像。眾人在他面前拆毀巴力的壇，砍斷壇上高高的日像，又把木偶和雕刻的像，並鑄造的像打碎成灰，撒在祭偶像人的墳上，

到了早晨，眾祭司長和民間的長老大家商議要治死耶穌，

以利亞撒子孫中為首的比以他瑪子孫中為首的更多，分班如下：以利亞撒的子孫中有十六個族長，以他瑪的子孫中有八個族長；都掣籤分立，彼此一樣。在聖所和神面前作首領的有以利亞撒的子孫，也有以他瑪的子孫。作書記的利未人拿坦業的兒子示瑪雅在王和首領，與祭司撒督、亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒，並祭司利未人的族長面前記錄他們的名字。在以利亞撒的子孫中取一族，在以他瑪的子孫中取一族。掣籤的時候，第一掣出來的是耶何雅立，第二是耶大雅，第三是哈琳，第四是梭琳，第五是瑪基雅，第六是米雅民，第七是哈歌斯，第八是亞比雅，第九是耶書亞，第十是示迦尼，第十一是以利亞實，第十二是雅金，第十三是胡巴，第十四是耶是比押，第十五是璧迦，第十六是音麥，第十七是希悉，第十八是哈闢悉，第十九是毗他希雅，第二十是以西結，第二十一是雅斤，第二十二是迦末，第二十三是第來雅，第二十四是瑪西亞。這就是他們的班次，要照耶和華－以色列的神藉他們祖宗亞倫所吩咐的條例進入耶和華的殿辦理事務。
