祭司希勒家謂繕寫沙番曰、我在主殿得律法書、希勒家以書授沙番、沙番讀之、

諭之曰、每七年之末年、即豁免之年、於居廬節期、以色列眾咸至、覲主爾之天主在其所選之處、當誦此律法在以色列眾前、使其聞之、當集眾民、男女幼子、及寄居爾邑之外邦客旅、使彼聽而學之、如此、則能敬畏主爾之天主、謹守遵行此律法之諸言、亦使其子女、尚無所識者聽之、即學終身敬畏主爾之天主、在爾渡約但將得之地、○

我又見死者、若大若小、立於寶座前、有書開展、又別有一書開展、即生命之書、死者皆憑書所錄、按其行為而受審判、

攜主律法書、遍行猶大諸邑、教誨其民、

以此律法之書、置於主爾天主約匱之旁、可在彼向爾曹作證、

在彼尊卑同居、奴脫於主人之轄、

是日書四分之一立於其所、誦主其天主律法之書、晝四分之一認罪、崇拜主其天主、

然我蒙天主祐、至今猶存、在尊者卑者前作證、所言無非諸先知及摩西預言、將來必有之事、

且使眾於門外、自老到幼、目矇不明、索門不得、

是日後、王又為居書珊城大小之民、設宴七日、在御園之宮院中、

擄邑中大小婦女、不殺一人、俱擄之去、

運之後、主降災於其邑、使邑人大恐惶、使之無論老幼生痔於下體、

當日、人誦摩西書、俾民俱聞、遇書中所載云、亞捫人、摩押人、永不得入天主之會、

凡不求主以色列之天主者、無論大小男女、必治之死、
