The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, thus confirming the words of the covenant written in this book. Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So he agreed to the terms of the covenant written down in that book. Then all the people committed themselves to the covenant as well.

And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.

The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. In this way, he confirmed all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll, and all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

Next, the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant in the LORD’s presence to follow the LORD and to keep his commands, his decrees, and his statutes with all his heart and with all his soul in order to carry out the words of this covenant that were written in this book; all the people agreed to the covenant.

耶何耶大在主與王及民之間立約、使民為主之民、又在王與民之間立約、

見王循常例立於臺、群臣與吹角者待於王之左右、國民欣然吹角、亞他利雅乃自裂其衣、呼曰、叛矣、叛矣、

惟爾當順從敬畏主爾之天主、守其誡、聽其命、奉事之、親慕之、

今日爾眾、爾諸族長、支派之牧伯、爾長老有司、及以色列眾男、爾子女妻室、與爾營中之外邦客旅、以及為爾析薪汲水者、俱立於主爾之天主前、欲爾遵主爾天主之約、即今日主發誓與爾所立者、或作欲爾遵主爾之天主今日與爾所立之約及所立之誓主今日立爾為己民、己為爾之天主、循其所許於爾、亦循其所誓於爾祖亞伯拉罕以撒雅各、此約此誓我不第與爾曹立、凡今日與我同立於主我之天主前、及今日不在此者、我與立此約此誓、

賜平康之天主、即曾使群羊之大牧我主耶穌基督、因永約之血由死復活者、

面向郇邑、尋訪其路、既至、聯合於主、與主結約、歷世弗忘、

此誡命律例法度、主爾之天主所命我教爾者、爾當遵行於爾所往得以為業之地、

立約必盡心盡意、尋求主其列祖之天主、凡不求主以色列之天主者、無論大小男女、必治之死、遂大聲歡呼、吹箛吹角、於主前立誓、

以約書誦與民聽、民曰、凡主所命之言、我必聽從遵行、摩西以血灑民曰、主與爾立約、欲爾遵守此諸誡命、以此血為證、

主在摩押地、諭摩西與以色列人立約、此即其約之言、此外有主在何烈與以色列人所立之約、或作此約在主與以色列人於何烈所立之約之外

當是時爾必循誠實公平義理指主而誓、列國必恃主為福、恃主為榮、

我言爾當守王命、既指天主而誓、自當如此、

摩西下、以主之諸言諸例告於民、民同聲應曰、凡主所諭之言、我必遵行、

以色列人乎、主爾之天主、欲爾所為何事、第敬畏主爾之天主、行其道、敬愛之、盡心盡意奉事之、

主之律法純全、可以蘇醒人心、主之法度真實、可以使愚人有智慧、主之命令正直、可以快樂人之心志、主之誡命純潔、可以明亮人之眼目、主之道理清淨、存至永遠、主之律例、極確實且至公義、

今欲在我天主前立約、必出此諸妻與其所生者、從我主及懍遵天主命者所議定、循例而行、

民對約書亞曰、我願崇事主我之天主、聽從其言、是日約書亞與民立約、為之定律例法度、在示劍、

爾若聽從我今日所諭爾之誡命、盡心盡意愛主爾之天主而奉事之、

瑪鹿、哈琳、巴拿、其餘之民、祭司、利未人、守門者、謳歌者、殿役、及凡與異邦人絕交從天主律法者、並其妻其子女、凡有知識能明者、皆從貴顯之同族、發誓立盟、必遵天主僕摩西所傳天主之律法、謹守遵行我主耶和華之一切誡命、律例、法度、不以我女嫁異邦人、不為我子娶異邦人之女、安息日、或聖日、異邦人若攜貨財食物售於我儕、我儕必不購之、每至七年、必休息、不耕不獲、不向負我債者索償、我儕亦為己定例、每歲人各輸銀一舍客勒三分之一、供我天主殿中之需、以備陳設餅、恆獻之素祭、恆獻之火焚祭、安息日、朔日、節期、所獻之祭、及所需別類之聖物、為以色列人所獻之贖罪祭、與凡我天主殿中所需者、我祭司、利未人、及民眾掣籤、每年何族於何時獻柴至我天主殿中、以燔於主我天主之祭臺上、循律法所載者、我儕又誓、每歲必以我田初登之土產、及各樹初實之果、奉於主殿、又循律法書所載者、將我初胎之男子、與首生之牲畜、及首生之牛羊、奉於我天主殿、給在我天主殿中供役事之祭司、又將新麥之屑、舉獻之禮物、各樹之果、並酒與油、攜於祭司、儲於我天主殿藏物之房中、又於我耕田各處、處原文作邑將我田所產、為利未人取其什一、使利未人得所當得之什一、利未人得此什一時、祭司亞倫子孫中當有一人在側、利未人自所得什一中、復取其什一、獻於我天主殿、納於府庫、

摩西召以色列眾告之曰、我今所傳於爾之律例法度、爾當聽之、學習謹守而遵行、主我之天主在何烈與我儕立約、此約主非與我祖立之、乃與我儕在此之人今日尚存者立之、

爾當盡心盡意盡力、愛主爾之天主、

［經載］主責民曰、日將至、我與以色列家及猶大家、將立新約、此約、不似我與其祖所立之約、即我援其手、導之出伊及時所立者、蓋彼不守我約、故我不眷顧之、此乃主所言者、主又曰、此日之後、我與以色列家所立之約、即將以我之律法、置於其衷、銘於其心、我將為彼之天主、彼將為我之民、亦不需各教其兄弟鄰里曰、爾當識主、蓋由小至大、皆必識我、我將宥其不義、不復念其罪惡云、既言新約、則以前約為舊、凡舊而漸衰者、必速歸於無有、

此書所載之律與例與法度、摩西傳於以色列人、在出伊及後、

有新約之中保耶穌、及所灑之血、此血彷彿有言、較亞伯血之言尤善、

師、律法諸誡、何為最大、耶穌曰、爾當盡心盡性盡意愛主爾之天主、

如爾忘主爾之天主、從異邦神、奉事叩拜、我今日警告爾、爾必滅亡、
