Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed all the shrines at the high places that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria and that had aroused the Lord’s anger.

Josiah did in the rest of the northern kingdom the same things he had done at Bethel. He removed all the small temples at the high places. He made them“ unclean.” The kings of Israel had built them in the towns of the northern kingdom. The people in those towns had made the Lord very angry.

And Josiah removed all the shrines also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which kings of Israel had made, provoking the Lord to anger. He did to them according to all that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah demolished all the buildings at the pagan shrines in the towns of Samaria, just as he had done at Bethel. They had been built by the various kings of Israel and had made the Lord very angry.

Josiah also removed all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to anger the LORD. Josiah did the same things to them that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah also removed all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had constructed, provoking the Lord to anger; and he did to them just as he had done in Bethel.

Now Josiah also took away all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the Lord to anger; and he did to them according to all the deeds he had done in Bethel.

And all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke Jehovah to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Beth- el.

Josiah also removed all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the Lord. Josiah did the same things to them that he had done at Bethel.

又在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬、甚至拿弗他利各城、使他們四境的廟宇荒廢。他又拆毁了祭壇，把亞舍拉神木和雕像砸碎成灰，將以色列遍地所有的香壇都砍下來，然後回耶路撒冷去。

因為他憑着永恆主的話攻擊伯特利的壇、攻擊撒瑪利亞各城邱壇的殿、所喊叫的話語必定應驗。』

這一切事既已作完，所有在場的以色列眾人就都出去、到猶大各城市，把崇拜柱子打碎，將亞舍拉神木砍下；又從猶大、便雅憫、以法蓮、瑪拿西遍地、將邱壇和祭壇全都拆毁；於是以色列眾人都回本城，各歸自己的地業去。

他走了以色列諸王所走的路，正如亞哈家所作的；因為他娶了亞哈的女兒做妻子，行永恆主所看為壞的事。

因為你守了暗利的規例和亞哈家一切所行的，按照他們的計畫去行，好叫我使你荒涼，使你的居民被嗤笑；你們也必擔受萬族之民的羞辱。』

並將他的兒子用火燒獻為祭，又算命，又觀兆頭，又行交鬼的事和巫術；多行永恆主所看為壞的事、而惹他發怒。

他對我說：『人子啊，你看見了沒有？猶大家在這裏行這可厭惡的事，還算為小麼？他們使這地充滿了強暴，再三惹了我發怒；看哪，他們把樹枝子送到鼻前呢。因此我也要以烈怒對待他們；我的眼必不顧惜；我必不可憐；他們雖向我耳中大聲呼求，我還是不聽他們。』

亞哈又立了亞舍拉神木；更加行惡來惹永恆主以色列之上帝的發怒，比他以前的以色列諸王更壞。

跑文書的帶着王和他的大臣手發的詔書就去、走遍以色列和猶大，並且遵照王所吩咐的說：『以色列人哪，你們要轉向永恆主、亞伯拉罕以撒以色列的上帝，好叫他轉向你們這逃脫亞述王掌握的餘民。你們不要像你們列祖和你們的族弟兄：他們對永恆主他們列祖的上帝不忠實，以致永恆主使他們成了令人驚駭的對象，正如你們自己所見過的。現在你們不要硬着脖子、像你們列祖那樣；你們只要舉手起誓歸順永恆主，進入他的聖所、他永遠分別為聖的地方，來事奉永恆主你們的上帝，好使他的烈怒轉離你們。因為你們若轉向永恆主，你們的族弟兄和兒女就必在擄了他們的人面前蒙憐憫，得以返回這地。因為永恆主你們的上帝有恩惠，有憐憫；你們若轉向他，他必不轉臉不顧你們。』跑文書的一城過一城地走遍了以法蓮和瑪拿西之地，直到西布倫；這些地方的人卻調弄他們，嗤笑他們。然而亞設、瑪拿西、西布倫中也有人自己謙卑、來到耶路撒冷。

兒子們撿柴，父老們燒火，婦女們摶麵作祭餅，獻給天后，又向別的神澆奠祭，以惹我發怒。永恆主發神諭說：他們惹怒的哪裏是我呢？豈不是惹了他們自己的禍，為要滿臉慚愧麼？

耶羅波安造了邱壇上的殿，將不屬利未子孫範圍內的平常人立為祭司。

他們用他們的邱壇惹了他發怒，用他們的雕像激了他的妒憤。

以色列人暗暗地行了不對的事、違背永恆主他們的上帝，在他們所有的城市、從瞭望人的譙樓、到有堡壘的城、他們都築了邱壇；

他們撇棄了永恆主他們的上帝一切的誡命，竟為自己造了兩個牛犢的鑄像，又造了亞舍拉神木，去敬拜天上的萬象，又事奉巴力。他們將自己的兒女用火燒獻為祭，又占卜，又觀兆頭，又出賣自己、去行永恆主所看為壞的事，而惹他發怒。因此永恆主很惱怒以色列人，便將他們從自己面前除掉，只剩下猶大一個族派而已。
