The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir and put Rezin to death.

So the king of Assyria did what Ahaz asked him to do. He attacked the city of Damascus and captured it. He sent its people away to Kir. And he put Rezin to death.

And the king of Assyria listened to him. The king of Assyria marched up against Damascus and took it, carrying its people captive to Kir, and he killed Rezin.

So the king of Assyria attacked the Aramean capital of Damascus and led its population away as captives, resettling them in Kir. He also killed King Rezin.

耶和华说：“以色列人哪，我岂不看你们如古实人吗？我岂不是领以色列人出埃及地，领非利士人出迦斐托，领亚兰人出吉珥吗？

以拦带着箭袋，还有坐战车的和马兵；吉珥揭开盾牌。

耶和华如此说：“大马士革三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罚；因为她以打粮食的铁器打过基列。我却要降火在哈薛的家中，烧灭便哈达的宫殿。我必折断大马士革的门闩，剪除亚文平原的居民和伯伊甸掌权的。亚兰人必被掳到吉珥。”这是耶和华说的。

因此，耶和华要高举利汛的敌人来攻击以色列，并要激动以色列的仇敌。

亚哈斯从耶和华殿里和王宫中，并首领家内所取的财宝给了亚述王，这也无济于事。

因为在这孩子还不晓得弃恶择善之先，你所憎恶的那二王之地必致见弃。

所以，耶和华他的神将他交在亚兰王手里。亚兰王打败他，掳了他许多的民，带到大马士革去。神又将他交在以色列王手里，以色列王向他大行杀戮。
