The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir and put Rezin to death.

So the king of Assyria did what Ahaz asked him to do. He attacked the city of Damascus and captured it. He sent its people away to Kir. And he put Rezin to death.

And the king of Assyria listened to him. The king of Assyria marched up against Damascus and took it, carrying its people captive to Kir, and he killed Rezin.

So the king of Assyria attacked the Aramean capital of Damascus and led its population away as captives, resettling them in Kir. He also killed King Rezin.

耶和華說：「以色列人啊，在我眼中，你們不是和古實人一樣嗎？我不是領你們出埃及，也領非利士人出迦斐托，領亞蘭人出吉珥嗎？

以攔人帶著箭袋，率領戰車和騎兵前來，吉珥人也亮出盾牌。

耶和華說：「大馬士革人三番四次地犯罪，我必不收回對他們的懲罰，因為他們用打糧食的鐵器蹂躪基列。所以我要降火在哈薛王家，燒毀便·哈達王的城堡。我要折斷大馬士革城的門閂，剷除亞文平原的居民和伯·伊甸的掌權者，使亞蘭人被擄到吉珥。這是耶和華說的。」

因此耶和華必驅使敵人來攻擊他們。

亞哈斯從耶和華的殿裡、王宮和官員家中取財寶送給亞述王，但無濟於事。

然而，在他能明辨是非之前，你所懼怕的這二王的國土必荒廢。

因此，他的上帝耶和華把他交在亞蘭王手中，亞蘭王就打敗他，把他的許多人民擄到大馬士革。他也被交在以色列王手中，損失慘重。
