Then King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria. He saw an altar in Damascus and sent to Uriah the priest a sketch of the altar, with detailed plans for its construction.

Then King Ahaz went to Damascus. He went there to see Tiglath- Pileser, the king of Assyria. Ahaz saw an altar in Damascus. He sent a drawing of it to Uriah the priest. Ahaz also sent him plans for building it.

When King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, he saw the altar that was at Damascus. And King Ahaz sent to Uriah the priest a model of the altar, and its pattern, exact in all its details.

耶和華說：「不要效法列國的行為。他們被天象嚇倒，你們卻不要因天象而害怕。

他們不再在我聖殿旁邊建廟宇，使它們的門檻和門柱緊挨著我的門檻和門柱，以致我與它們只有一牆之隔。他們曾經行可憎的事，玷污我的聖名，所以我發怒消滅他們。

他們的教導無非是人的規條，他們敬拜我也是枉然。』」

摩西把耶和華的這些話記錄下來。第二天清晨，摩西在山腳築了一座壇，立了十二根柱子代表以色列的十二支派。

你們不可追隨世界的潮流，要隨著思想的不斷更新而改變，這樣就能明辨上帝的旨意，知道什麼是良善、純全、蒙祂悅納的。

摩西察看這一切工作，見他們都是按照耶和華的吩咐做的，就給他們祝福。

以色列王比加執政期間，亞述王提革拉·毗列色來犯，奪取了以雲、亞伯·伯·瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯和夏瑣，佔領了基列、加利利及拿弗他利全境，把那裡的居民擄往亞述。

大衛將殿的走廊、房舍、庫房、樓房、內室和安放施恩座的聖所的圖樣都交給所羅門，又將心裡構想的耶和華殿的院子、四周的房屋、殿的庫房和聖物庫房的圖樣都交給他。

他們的行為玷污了自己，使自己淪為淫婦。

他就不必供養父母。』你們這是用傳統來廢掉上帝的誡命。

要知道，你們從傳統的、沒有意義的生活中被救贖出來，不是靠金銀等會朽壞的東西，

那時，你們要謹慎，不可受誘惑去效法他們的習俗，不可打聽他們神明的事，說，『這些民族怎樣供奉他們的神明呢？我也要效法。』

大衛說：「以上這一切都是耶和華親手指示我的，讓我明白工作的細節。」

便戀上了他們，差遣使者到他們那裡。巴比倫人便來上她的床，放縱情慾玷污了她。之後，她便厭棄他們。
