蓋吾儕所引以為榮、而問心無疚者、則吾儕立身處世、尤在爾我之間、一秉天主之正直及至誠、不徇私智、惟恃天主聖寵而已。

而爾等不計危難、毅然服膺聖道、且受聖神之靈感、而怡然自樂；是則爾等不惟以吾儕為則、直以主為法矣。

蓋爾等既眾德萃身、而發為慷慨之豪舉、吾儕更當將此慷慨、化為眾口誦主之因緣。

雖似不堪其憂、而實則不勝其樂也；雖似窮乏、而實則所以豐人也；雖似一無所有、而實則無所不有也。

庶幾造次顛沛無所動心。蓋知受苦受難、實為吾人分內之事。嚮者吾與爾俱、早已預告吾人必有憂患、今果見驗、亦爾等之所親歷也。

兄弟乎、爾等實堪與猶太奉耶穌基督之諸教會、並駕齊驅。蓋爾等所遭受於爾國人之手者、與彼等所遭受於猶太人者、如出一轍也。

有貧嫠至、納二錢、合銀一釐。耶穌召門徒曰：『我誠告汝、此貧嫠所納、較眾尤多；眾納所餘、婦則於不足之中、盡獻其養生之資矣。』
